Job Summary:

Duxbed Innovations Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our daily operations in Perinthalmanna, Malappuram. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our production processes, supply chain, logistics, quality control, and overall operational performance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong execution focus, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies and plans aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Analyze current operational processes and identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction.
  • Forecast operational needs and resource requirements to support production targets and business growth.
  • Production Management:
  • Oversee the entire production process, from raw material sourcing to finished goods, ensuring adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost targets.
  • Implement and maintain efficient production workflows, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
  • Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all production equipment and machinery.
  • Supply Chain and Procurement:
  • Manage and optimize the company's supply chain, including sourcing of raw materials, vendor selection, negotiation of contracts, and inventory management.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
  • Logistics and Distribution:
  • Oversee the efficient and cost-effective transportation and distribution of finished goods to customers.
  • Manage relationships with logistics providers and ensure timely and damage-free delivery.
  • Optimize warehousing and storage processes to ensure efficient inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Establish and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures throughout the production process.
  • Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations team, including production staff, supervisors, and other operational personnel.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Identify training and development needs within the operations team and implement appropriate programs.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards within the operations department.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
  • Monitor operational expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost control measures.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and monitor operational performance.
  • Analyze operational data, identify trends, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related), Operations Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the furniture or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, logistics, and quality control principles.
  • Experience implementing and utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable operational plans.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English and Malayalam is essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the furniture manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of local supply chain networks and vendor relationships in Kerala.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with implementing and managing HSE management systems.
