Key Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing processes for camshaft machining operations.
- Participate in equipment finalization, DAP, specification finalization, trials, and final commissioning for machines such as: Cam milling, Laser marking, Deburring, Induction hardening, Straightening, Journal and cam grinding, BHN testing, Crack testing, Superfinishing, Washing and final inspection
- Programming on Cam Milling, Induction Hardening, Journal and Cam lobe grinding, superfinishing machine to develop new parts.
- Prepare RFQs, technical document sign-offs, PR/POs, and manage ordering, DAP, manufacturing, and pre-acceptance trials for new machines and refurbished equipment.
- Improve plant layout and material flow to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support CAPEX planning and cash flow management in a timely manner.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct team meetings and maintain effective communication with site operations, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Quality, and supplier teams.
- Maintain project tracking and documentation to ensure completion of all project milestones.
- Support new production lines with IIoT, Cummins Manufacturing System (CMS), and Industry 4.0 integration.
- Assist in developing and implementing manufacturing standards and work methods using continuous improvement tools.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on assigned projects.
- Define manufacturing processes to meet product specifications and production goals.
- Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve product or performance issues.
- Plan and design methods to improve production efficiency.
- Enhance equipment availability and capability through continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Review shop Engineering Requests (ERs) and coordinate with the NPRR team for timely implementation.
- Lead ergonomic initiatives on the shop floor, implement ERGO projects, and monitor RPS reduction.
- Release and monitor annual plans for process capability reviews of major and critical characteristics.
- Coordinate with the engineering team on VPCR trials and implementation.
- Apply manufacturing principles to improve equipment and process performance.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools and adhere to Cummins standards.
- Lead the development and standardization of manufacturing methods and practices.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field.
Experience
- Experience in manufacturing/engineering functions – minimum 1–3 years preferred.
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., VPCR, BOM, DQR, ER), fixture design, and process validation.
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools and lean practices.
- Hands-on involvement in shop floor improvement and capital equipment development is an added advantage.
