Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Manager - Commissions Accounting at Argano is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the commissions accounting team, including the Senior Commissions Analyst and other team members. This position is accountable for managing and executing the calculation and administration of incentive plans across sales, operations, and delivery teams. In addition to acting as key partner to the People Team and Compensation Department, helping to interpret, set up, and validate incentive plans while educating stakeholders on the effective use of the sales performance management (SPM) system, the Manager provides leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction for the team. The role requires strong analytical, accounting, and system expertise to ensure seamless execution of commission processes while driving efficiency through automation and process improvements. This position also plays a critical role in accruals and forecasting for the Finance team, ensuring accurate financial planning and reporting related to incentive compensation. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor the commissions accounting team, ensuring high performance, professional development, and alignment with business goals. Oversee and execute incentive compensation calculations and provide participant statements across various departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Serve as the escalation point for resolving complex discrepancies and disputes related to incentive payments. Act as a subject matter expert in the transition from manual to automated commission calculation processes, ensuring a seamless and efficient shift. Ensure all data used in commission calculations is timely, accurate, consistent, and validated against compensation plans. Partner with key stakeholders, including Finance, Compensation, Accounting, and Payroll teams, to streamline processes and ensure compliance. Oversee updates, maintenance, and administration of the sales performance management (SPM) system. Develop and implement best practices for commissions accounting processes, identifying and leading process improvement initiatives. Manage the preparation of detailed reports and analyses on incentive calculations, payouts, and the effectiveness of compensation plans. Support the Compensation team in the annual development, implementation, and communication of incentive plans, ensuring systems and processes support the organization’s needs. Ensure that all calculations and processes adhere to relevant legal and regulatory standards. Assist with internal and external audits by maintaining comprehensive documentation of all processes related to incentive calculations. Oversee tracking of all headcount changes, including hires, terminations, transfers, and backfills, to ensure accurate commission calculations. Lead training and educational initiatives to ensure that stakeholders understand and effectively utilize the SPM system. Partner with the Finance team to develop accurate accruals and forecasts related to incentive compensation, ensuring alignment with financial planning and reporting needs. Education Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Experience 2-4 year of experience managing a team in accounting, finance, or related fields with a strong focus on commissions or incentive plan management, preferably in the technology industry. Experience with both manual and automated incentive calculation processes. Experience working in high-growth, performance-focused environments and administering complex programs Skill Requirements – Leadership & Management: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team. Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively across departments and with senior leadership. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and provide solutions quickly. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP and sales performance management systems. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing processes and environments during the transition from manual to automated systems.
