Role Overview

The Operations & Logistics professional will be responsible for managing day-to-day plant operations, raw material handling, production support, inventory management, and logistics coordination in the additive lubricant industry. The role ensures smooth supply chain flow—from procurement of raw materials, blending, packaging, warehousing, to final delivery of finished goods—while complying with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Coordinate production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts and customer requirements.
  • Ensure availability of raw materials, additives, and packaging materials for uninterrupted operations.
  • Work closely with QC/QA teams to ensure product compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize blending, storage, and dispatch operations.

Logistics & Supply Chain:

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished products.
  • Coordinate with transporters, shipping lines, and freight forwarders for timely delivery.
  • Monitor and control logistics costs while ensuring service efficiency.
  • Oversee warehousing activities—material storage, stock rotation, and dispatch documentation.

Inventory & Procurement:

  • Maintain optimal stock levels of additives, base oils, and packaging materials.
  • Track consumption, stock movements, and initiate timely purchase requisitions.
  • Implement inventory control techniques (FIFO, batch tracking) to minimize wastage.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards during storage and handling of additives and lubricants.
  • Handle import/export documentation, excise/GST compliance, and transportation permits.
  • Maintain records of purchase orders, stock registers, and dispatch documents.

Vendor & Customer Coordination:

  • Liaise with vendors for timely supply of raw materials and packaging items.
  • Coordinate with sales & customer service teams to fulfill customer orders on time.
  • Handle customer queries regarding dispatch, tracking, and delivery timelines.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of lubricant/additive supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of import-export procedures, excise/GST, and logistics documentation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills in

    English, Hindi, and Marathi

    (both verbal and written).
  • Strong coordination, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with safety norms in handling chemicals and lubricants.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Science/Engineering. MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in Operations/Logistics, preferably in Chemical, Lubricant, or Additive industry.
  • Experience in production planning, warehouse management, and export-import logistics will be an added advantage.
