Own end-to-end employment and commercial legal support for DriverShaab—covering labour/industrial laws, employment documentation, client/vendor contracts, collections/recoveries, legal notices, and litigation coordination—while being ready to travel PAN-India for casework and appearances.

• Employment & Labour Law

• Draft/vet employment letters, HR policies, PoSH compliance, disciplinary actions, exits, and settlements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutes in West Bengal and other states (Shops & Establishments, CLRA, ID Act, EPF, ESI, Payment of Wages/Bonus/Gratuity, etc.).
• Advise on staffing/contractor structures for drivers and city operations.

• Contracts & Commercial

• Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs/SOWs, SLAs, NDAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts.
• Align contract terms with business risk appetite (indemnity, limitation of liability, service credits, termination, IP, confidentiality).
• Support business teams on tender/RFP responses and policy updates.

• Collections, Recovery & Disputes

• Drive legal strategy for

  payment collections

  , including demand/collection notices, settlement terms, and documentation.
• Prepare and issue legal notices (including cheque dishonour actions under

  Sec. 138, NI Act

  ), coordinate summary suits/civil recovery, and pre-litigation steps (including IBC-related demand notices where applicable).
• Liaise with external counsel; appear before labour authorities/courts/tribunals where required.

• Compliance & Risk

• Maintain statutory registers/records and assist with inspections/notices from authorities.
• Support internal audit checks for contract adherence and labour compliances across cities.
• Partner with Finance on

  contractual GST positions

  and legal clauses (note: role is legal, not tax advisory).

• Stakeholder Support

• Provide practical, business-friendly legal advice to Operations, HR, Finance, and City teams.
• Conduct trainings (contract hygiene, PoSH awareness, disciplinary due process, documentation standards).

• Travel

• PAN-India travel

  for legal hearings, reconciliations, and client escalations on short notice.

• LL.B.

  from a recognized university; enrollment with the

  Bar Council of West Bengal

  and licensed to practice in

  Kolkata

  .

• 1–4 years

  post-qualification experience in employment/labour law and contract drafting (in-house or law firm).
• Strong drafting skills (contracts, notices, petitions, affidavits); confident in filings and appearances.
• Proven experience in

  payment recovery/collections

  and handling bad-debt legal workflows.
• Fluency in

  English & Bengali

  (Hindi is a plus).
• Willingness to travel

  PAN-India

  as needed.

• Exposure to logistics/mobility, staffing, or multi-city operations.
• Experience coordinating with multiple state authorities and external counsel panels.
• Familiarity with data protection clauses and platform/e-commerce T&Cs.

• High ownership, urgency, and integrity; thrives in a fast-moving, operational environment.
• Crisp communication and stakeholder management; solutions-oriented and practical.
• Detail-driven documentation and follow-through.
