Job Summary

Strategy

  • Support technology strategy and roadmap for Markets business by providing robust technology solutions that will efficiently drive higher productivity, maximize efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Lead and implement the vision and strategy by adopting new technology and delivery model with Agile, and Dev Ops to identify working opportunities on innovatio

  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
  • Contribute to the strategic goals of the organisation through the application of standard and latest technology (standardised enterprise grade tools, software, and frameworks).

Processes

  • Provide inputs, support and challenge process or operating model to constantly identify opportunities on simplification and delivery efficiency.
  • Define standards to ensure that applications are designed with scale, resilience, and performance in mind.
Enforce and streamline sound development practices and establish and maintain effective governance processes including training, advice, and support, to assure the platforms are developed, implemented, and maintained aligning with the Group’s standards

  • Drive creation and provide ongoing input and support for the delivery of technology talent programmes.

Risk Management

  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks for investment projects as well for new application build-out.
  • Identify / address key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group Technology Policy, Standards and Enterprise Risk management framework
  • Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge peers effectively; and Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Work with program management office and 2nd line of defence teams to ensure portfolio governance are well managed

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Other Responsibilities

  • Work with an Agile team to develop and maintain applications
  • Work with infra changes, software patch releases, product configuration, application packaging and deployment
  • Package and support application releases to production environment
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute application releases and ensure adherence to all release management activities
  • Design and develop modules/scripts for package/release automation and for application management on the servers
  • Install, refine and tune integrations between applications
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate application server level activities
  • Participate end to end project delivery and conduct tasks such as: application testing, build, and release.
  • Plan and execute delivery activities with respect to the application in coordination with support teams and other surrounding systems
  • Ensure stability and integrity of the application through adoption of best practices and modern innovative solutions
  • Follow and contribute to DevOps and related team collaboration activities
  • Contribute to Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment activities for the application.
  • Work with functions and platform teams to ensure stability and integrity of the application.

Skills And Experience

  • Required Qualification and Skills
  • Strong background in Unix/Linux system administration, shell scripting, patching and other maintenance activities, specifically for financial applications
  • Knowledge of related Infra components such as Networks, Firewall configurations, DB storage, NAS, digital certificates etc.
  • Experience in deploying, configuring and maintaining SWIFT applications (SAA, SAG, SNL, AWP) in high-availability and disaster recovery environments
  • Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting SWIFT connectivity (including PKI & Certs management), HSM integration and SWIFT CSP compliance
  • Experience in Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) frameworks and methodologies such as Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
  • Knowledge of using tools such as Ansible, Shell/Python scripting for automating routine infra tasks
  • Understanding of Change Management and related governance principles
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders across multiple technology and business teams
  • Good time management skills to plan and create schedules and effectively manage production releases
  • Familiarity with App support for external vendor products will be an advantage
  • Collaborate with developers, PM, BA on all project deliverables.
  • Continuously innovate, adapt and invest in latest technologies
  • Fast learner, self-disciplined, positive attitude.
  • Good communicator.
  • Nice to have:
  • Financial Markets Experience
  • Experience in DB design and DB management is a plus
  • Knowledge on SWIFT messages
