Job Description

Manager – Exports & International Business Development

Department:


Job Purpose:

To drive international sales growth by developing new export markets, managing overseas clients and distributors, handling end-to-end export business development activities, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new international markets, distributors, dealers, and channel partners.
  • Generate export sales leads and convert them into long-term business opportunities.
  • Prepare and negotiate export quotations, pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
  • Achieve assigned export sales targets and revenue growth.
  • Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and B2B meetings.

Client & Channel Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas customers, distributors, and agents.
  • Handle international customer inquiries, product presentations, and technical coordination.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Export Operations & Coordination

  • Coordinate with production, planning, logistics, and finance teams for smooth execution of export orders.
  • Oversee export documentation including PI, LC, BL, COO, Packing List, Invoice, and other statutory documents.
  • Liaise with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
  • Ensure timely shipment and compliance with INCOTERMS and country-specific regulations.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Conduct international market research, competitor analysis, and pricing benchmarks.
  • Track global market trends, regulatory changes, and customer requirements.
  • Support management in defining export strategies and expansion plans.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to export compliance, DGFT norms, and foreign trade policies.
  • Maintain accurate MIS reports on sales performance, pipeline, shipments, and collections.
  • Support audits and documentation required for export incentives and schemes.

Education:

  • MBA / PGDM in International Business, Marketing, or Sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Commerce preferred

Experience:

  • 15+ Years of experience in

    Export Sales / International Business Development

  • Experience in

    inverter, solar, electrical, power electronics, or manufacturing industry

    is highly preferred

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of export procedures and international trade practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS, LC, export documentation, and logistics
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/CRM systems
  • Result-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling international clients independently
  • Willingness to travel internationally, if required
