Job Summary:

The HR Manager will lead end-to-end HR operations for the manufacturing plant, ensuring effective manpower management, statutory compliance, employee relations, and alignment of HR strategies with business objectives. The role requires strong exposure to factory HR, labor laws, and people management.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. HR Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Lead and manage the HR team for smooth HR operations
• Act as a strategic partner to plant head and senior management

2. Manpower Planning & Recruitment

• Workforce planning for staff and shop-floor employees
• Handling end-to-end recruitment for technical, non-technical, and contract roles
• Vendor and consultant management
• Ensuring timely hiring as per production requirements

3. HR Operations & Administration

• Overseeing onboarding, confirmation, transfer, promotion, and exit processes
• Ensuring proper maintenance of employee records and HRMS
• Managing attendance, shifts, leave, and overtime policies

4. Payroll & Compensation Management

• Supervising payroll processing and salary structuring
• Ensuring accurate payroll inputs and statutory deductions
• Managing employee benefits, incentives, and rewards
• Handling payroll audits and employee queries

5. Statutory Compliance & Labor Laws

• Ensuring compliance with Factory Act, PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, and other labor laws
• Maintaining statutory registers and timely returns
• Liaison with labor authorities and handling inspections/audits
• Managing contract labor compliance

6. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations

• Handling employee grievances and disciplinary actions
• Maintaining harmonious industrial relations on the shop floor
• Managing union matters and negotiations (if applicable)
• Supporting disciplinary committees and domestic inquiries

7. Performance Management

• Implementing performance appraisal systems and KPI frameworks
• Supporting promotions, increments, and career progression
• Coaching managers on performance and people management

8. Training & Development

• Identifying training needs and skill gaps
• Planning technical, behavioral, and statutory training programs
• Ensuring safety and compliance-related training

9. Policy Development & Compliance

• Formulating and implementing HR policies and SOPs
• Ensuring adherence to company rules and code of conduct
• Updating employee handbook and HR manuals

10. Health, Safety & Welfare

• Coordinating employee welfare activities
• Ensuring statutory welfare facilities (canteen, transport, medical, safety)
• Supporting EHS initiatives and audits

11. HR MIS & Reporting

• Preparing HR MIS reports (headcount, attrition, absenteeism, compliance status)
• Providing data-driven insights to management
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of labor laws and factory HR
• Proven experience in manufacturing/plant HR
• Leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Proficiency in HRMS, payroll systems, and MS Excel
• Ability to handle shop-floor workforce and IR challenges
  

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 510 years of HR experience in a manufacturing setup
• Hands-on exposure to statutory compliance and IR
• Experience handling audits, inspections, and labor authorities
