Role Description: Partner with Payments Leadership and key stakeholders to build and lead a shared roadmap that maximizes benefits for Delta and our customers. Support investigation of production issues and pursue resolution based on impact. Leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time. Work with Senior Management, Business & Release Management to understand the product's vision, prioritize and develop software release planning. Communicate the development progress to senior management through Agile and Key KPI's. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work closely with Product Owners and Cross functional teams to define and implement Solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery. Actively participate in Solution reviews and architectural governance forums. Stay updated on emerging technologies in payment space. Align technical solutions with the organization of long-term technology vision and business goals. Leverage automation AI, CI/CD and DevOps practices to improve software development efficiency. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications): Bachelors in a technical or scientific field, with 12 or more years of experience in an IT project-based environment is required Minimum 3+ Years of proven experience in software engineering resource management who can mentor and coach engineers to help them grow, conduct performance reviews and foster a healthy, inclusive, and productive team culture. Experience or knowledge in AWS / Serverless architecture (Ex: Lambda, API GW). Providing technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers working on AI-powered solutions within the payment’s domain. Build High performing Agile teams on sound engineering practices like Code Reviews, UT coverage, Task Branching, Continuous integration, Release branching/ planning and other Scrum-related meetings. Software development background, likely in languages such as JAVA, Node JS , JS and Angular. Extensive experience in Agile methodology, Scrum processes, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews/retrospectives, Program planning, Story based development and product backlog prioritization Perform Agile Maturity assessments for teams and provide coaching and input to reach higher maturity levels and continuous improvement. Collaborating with the quality engineer automation team and defining a framework from scratch for using Cypress to automate UI and used JavaScript, NodeJS, and NPM for Angular-based user interface. Guide the team in architectural and design decisions, ensure best practices in code quality, testing, and deployments and provide constructive feedback. Act as the liaison between engineering and other departments, communicate progress, blockers, and results to stakeholders and Align engineering efforts with business goals and strategy. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in IT engineering resource management. Experience in cloud environment, experience with FinOps, using tools like Jira or Digital ai Agility, is a plus. Provide guidance to software engineering teams who are developing and enhancing applications that combine enterprise data with analytical models and are used throughout the operation Mentor teams to deliver applications that align with the agile methodology and encourage frequent engagement with stakeholders Encourage regular participation by business stakeholders in the software development process, to ensure that applications developed are prioritized according to business value and meet stakeholder needs. Team Leadership: Manage a team of Software engineers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, ensuring their growth and development. Project Management: Oversee the entire design and development process for Delta's Omnichannel initiatives. Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of IT engineering resources across various projects and initiatives based on project requirements, resource availability, and skillsets. Capacity Planning: Collaborate with Onsite teams and department heads to forecast resource needs and plan for future projects, ensuring that the team has the necessary resources to meet project demands. Resource Utilization: Monitor resource utilization and productivity, identifying opportunities to optimize resource allocation and improve efficiency. Skills Assessment: Assess the skillsets and strengths of IT engineering team members to ensure optimal alignment of resources with project requirements. Resource Development: Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of IT engineering team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
