  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to monitor financial performance and guide strategic planning.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and corporate tax filings, while optimizing tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished steel pipes, ensuring alignment with production cycles.

  • Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate statutory and internal audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insights through ratio analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and financial modeling to support capital expenditure decisions and operational improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations, including environmental compliance and labor laws, as applicable to steel manufacturing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to align financial strategies with operational goals and provide financial insights to senior management.
  • ERP Utilization: Leverage ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tally) to streamline financial processes, maintain accurate records, and generate real-time reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Must hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
  • Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in financial management or accounting within the steel manufacturing or heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), GAAP, and tax regulations (GST, TDS, Income Tax).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and advanced Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting principles specific to manufacturing processes, including job costing and process costing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership skills to guide junior finance staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Industry Knowledge:
  • Proven experience in the steel or metal manufacturing industry, with an understanding of raw material procurement, production processes, and market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific challenges, such as fluctuating raw material prices and supply chain complexities.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications like Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) are a plus.
