Business Development Manager –  Job Description (for Sheetal Enterprises) Company Overview: Sheetal Enterprises (Sheetal Labels) is a manufacturer, wholesaler, supplier,  Role Summary: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will employees) and annual turnover in the range of ₹5–25 crore.  Role Summary: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding the customer base, and developing new business opportunities for Sheetal Enterprises’ product lines domestically . The BDM will collaborate closely with manufacturing, operations, and service teams to align product offerings with market needs. Key Responsibilities 1. Market Research & Opportunity Identification Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and emerging market segments (for barcode labels, printers, scanners, etc.). Analyze competitor activity, pricing strategies, and product positioning. Identify new business channels such as export markets, distributors, or OEM partners. 2. Lead Generation & Sales Generate new business leads through cold calling, networking, trade shows, and other channels. Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations, tailoring them to client needs. Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring favorable terms for the company. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, track leads, opportunities, and conversion rates. 3. Relationship Management Build and nurture relationships with key clients, distributors, channel partners, and OEMs. Ensure consistent communication and follow-up with prospective and existing clients. Work toward high customer satisfaction and retention; coordinate after-sales service and support. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration Liaise with manufacturing, operations, and service teams (like printer repair) to ensure customer needs are met. Coordinate with marketing to develop campaigns, collaterals, and participation in trade shows or industry events. Provide feedback to product teams on customer requirements and suggest improvements in products. 5. Strategic Planning & Reporting Develop business development strategies aligned with company goals (domestic growth, exports, etc.). Set KPIs (e.g., new clients, revenue targets, market growth) and regularly report on progress. Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and market / competitor analysis for senior management. 6. Export / International Business (if applicable) Identify export opportunities, understand export regulations, and build relationships with overseas clients / distributors. Negotiate and manage export contracts, ensuring compliance with export norms. Coordinate logistics and delivery with internal operations for international orders. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 3–5+ years of business development or sales experience in B2B manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related sectors (ideally in label / barcode / printer industry). Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of barcode label technology, label printers, barcode scanners, and related hardware is a strong plus. Sales Skills: Proven ability to generate leads, negotiate, close deals, and manage a sales pipeline. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term partnerships. Planning & Organization: Strategic thinking, goal-setting, and business planning ability. Tools: Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems. Travel: Willingness to travel domestic for client meetings, trade shows, etc. Self-driven: Highly motivated, target-driven, capable of working independently.
