Skillset Definition
- General Preferred Qualifications
- Workday PRO certification in relevant tracks
- Working understanding of integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Public APIs)
HCM Requirements
- Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Architecture, Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
- (MUST)Exposure to Configurations: Configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Benefits, Time tracking, Payroll, or Learning) to align with client workflows.
- Data management: Assist with data migration and ensure data accuracy
- Process improvement: Identify and implement improvements to business processes using the Workday platform
- Demonstrated knowledge of Workday Docs, letter templates, Questionnaire, Survey, Reference Letters and custom alerts
- Advanced hand-on process with Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes
- Ability to create Calculated Fields and Custom reports
- Strong Understanding of building, maintaining and interpreting Security Group Permissions.
- Be able to provide recommendations to Tier 1 Team to fix incorrect transactions
Time & Absence Requirements
- Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
- Advanced hand-on experience with time-off plan configuration including complex accruals, carryovers, shadow plans and touchpoints with leaves and time tracking.
- Advanced hands-on experience with leave configuration including balance periods, cascading leaves, intermittent leaves, and complex eligibility and validation rules.
- Experience with ancillary absence processes such as automated leave return, automatic balance adjustments and transfers, Sell Time Off and others.
- Experience with Workday time-tracking configuration, time submissions, and employee work schedules.
- Experience with reporting using the available Absence and Time Tracking data sources.
- Knowledge of Workday’s API capabilities for the Absence and Time Tracking modules.
Payroll Requirements
- Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
- Workday Payroll processing knowledge including calculation, complete, and settle steps
- Experience with building payroll components (Earnings, Deductions, Account Posting Rules, Run Categories, Payment Election Rules)
- Experience with third party payroll configuration (External Earnings, External Deductions, External Inputs)
- Experience with reporting data sources for Payroll (Payroll Results) and Accounting (Journal Lines)
- Knowledge of payroll regulatory rules and their impact on payroll configuration
- Knowledge of payroll touchpoints (Time Tracking, Absence, HCM, Compensation, Benefits)
Role2-Workday Technical –
Responsibilities:
Ownership of the hire-to-retire lifecycle in Workday
Plan and lead cross-functional efforts to drive Workday product launches: Coordinate and lead efforts across various teams to ensure successful product launches.
Continuously elevate the employee experience and optimize interactions with Workday: Focus on improving the user experience and efficiency of Workday interactions.
Represent the Workday platform across the landscape of HR applications: Act as the primary representative for Workday in the context of HR applications.
Partner with business leaders and People Engineering teams to align on objectives and programs: Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and initiatives.
Lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday functionality: Oversee the entire process of developing and implementing new features in Workday.
Core Responsibilities (MUST)
Key duties of a Workday Technical Consultant in this domain include:
- Integration Development: Designing and developing integrations using various Workday tools, including Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, and primarily, Workday Studio.
- Data Transformation: Utilizing XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations), often XSLT 3.0, to transform XML data from Workday into the format required by external systems, and vice versa.
- Perform Document transformations: Create and manage the transformation of data between different formats (From Workday's internal structure to a flat file or another system's format).
- Troubleshooting & Support: Providing technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring data accuracy and system stability.
- Security & Maintenance: Configuring security groups and policies for integrations and participating in bi-annual Workday releases and updates
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience implementing or managing solutions in Workday: Extensive experience in handling Workday solutions.
- 4+ years experience configuring Workday HCM, with demonstrated technical experience: Proven expertise in configuring Workday Human Capital Management and integrating with multiple applications
- 2+ years experience supporting other Workday products (Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Performance, Learning): Experience in supporting various Workday modules.
- Deep HR domain expertise and ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions: Strong understanding of HR processes and the ability to implement them technically.
- Able to thrive in a complex & technically ambiguous environment: Comfort with navigating and succeeding in challenging environments.
