Job Profile : Video Producer/Editor


Overview :

 Role Summary

As a Video Editor, you will be the final storyteller — bringing life, rhythm, and clarity to visual narratives across digital campaigns. You won’t just “cut” — you’ll craft stories that resonate, convert, and stick with the viewer. From snappy Instagram reels to compelling brand films, explainer videos, and testimonial edits, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how people experience our content.

Your role demands both creative finesse and technical mastery, ensuring every frame aligns with the brand’s voice, message, and emotional tone. You'll collaborate closely with writers, designers, voice-over artists, and strategists to deliver video content that is polished, platform-optimized, and performance-ready.


🎞️ Key Responsibilities

* Edit a variety of video formats — social media reels, YouTube videos, motion posters, explainer videos, case studies, testimonials, ad films, product demos, and more.

* Collaborate with the content, design, and strategy teams to translate briefs and scripts into compelling edits.

* Incorporate text animation, transitions, graphics, sound design, and stock footage to enhance storytelling.

* Execute multiple edits in parallel across brands, maintaining quality, pace, and branding.

* Manage video timelines, color correction, sound syncing and masking.

* Repurpose long-form content (like interviews, webinars, BTS footage) into short-form, high-retention clips for social.

* Optimize edits for specific platforms: Reels, YouTube Shorts, Stories, LinkedIn videos, etc.

* Maintain organized project folders, exports, and backup systems for collaboration and future edits.


 What You Must Know & Master

🔹 Editing Software Expertise

* Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (core)

* Familiarity with After Effects for motion graphics, kinetic typography, or logo animation

* Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro (optional but welcome)

* Bonus: Canva Pro for quick turnarounds or social media edits

🔹 Video Formats & Social Platforms

* Deep understanding of frame ratios, formats, durations, and sound policies for:

  * Instagram Reels (9:16, under 60s)

  * YouTube (16:9, long form & Shorts)

  * Facebook/LinkedIn (1:1, 4:5)

  * WhatsApp forwards (low-compression versions)

🔹 Editing Fundamentals

* Mastery of cutting rhythm, transitions, pacing, and flow

* Sound design and background score syncing

* Eye for text placement, title animation, and overlays

* Basic color grading and correction

🔹 Storytelling & Conceptual Thinking

* Ability to interpret script and mood to drive emotion, suspense, humor, or drama

* Bring out product/brand USPs using motion, visual cues, and hooks

* Emphasis on first-3-second impact (critical for reels & ads)

🔹 Technical Skills

* Export in optimal formats for platforms, compression techniques

* Add subtitles, captions (manual or auto-generated + stylized)

* Create quick cuts, jump cuts, L-cuts, J-cuts, smooth transitions


✅ Required Skills & Traits

* A showreel or portfolio of social-first edits, explainer videos, or campaign-based films

* Comfortable with tight deadlines, fast turnarounds, and last-minute briefs

* Open to feedback, reworks, and collaborative input from multiple teams

* Excellent sense of timing, beat matching, and emotional impact

Must Have:-

·      Heart of a story teller and aspiration of a film maker

·      Understanding of disruptive themes, art work and agency level brand centric manifestations

·      Understanding of OTT, online video channels and video centric promotional platforms.

·      Nothing less than global standards while working on any creative/ viral marketing areas

·      Understanding of Editing tools at a professional level

·      Expert level mastery of Premiere Pro CC as well as proficiency in After Effects and Photoshop

·      Believe everything, yes everything, can be done with the magic of a passionate video editor

·      Following a script, screenplay or outline

·      Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs

  • 3+ years of experience editing promotional videos, especially for digital audience(story telling, podcasts, reels, motion graphics, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of video trends, and knowledge on streaming TV deliverables
  • Passion for engaging storytelling
  • Personality profile to fit into a high-growth, entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile growth environment where you will get your hands into the details
  • Very organized and detail-oriented
  • Sound design and music sweetening experience
  • Act as the Editor for on-air streaming TV promos, under the direction of Sr. Producer. You will be relied upon to handle request intake, producing and editing, addressing notes, and final delivery
  • In addition to promotional spots, you will create other video projects as requested by business and creative stakeholders – engaging reels, social media content and other projects
  • In collaboration with Client servicing manager, you will ensure consistency of creative vision across art, story, and design for multiple brands.
  • You will manage your workflow in our project management software (ClickUp) to appropriately manage jobs by deadline and prioritize - Confirm with marketing managers that complete project information is provided up front
  • You stay on top of design trends, to keep work exciting and new – driving tune-in and conversion
  • Other duties as assigned


WHAT YOU WILL NEED:


·      Experience in working on editing software like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro and Graphic Software Adobe Creative Suite - e.g. After Effects, Adobe Photoshop,

·      Flash, Adobe Illustrator, etc.

·      Should have good knowledge of Editing and customizing professional quality videos.

·      Good knowledge of Visual Effects/VFX various video codecs and encoding.

·      Able to visualize and produce quality output according to Script.

·      Experience in Digital agencies or Ad agencies will be preferred.

·      2-5 years of experience in video editing for websites, and Promotional campaigns.

·      Degree or Diploma in Video Editing and Animation.

·      Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously

·      Creative thinker.

·      Good time-management skills.

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·      Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics are preferred.
