ABOUT THE ROLE


As the Vice President of IT Infrastructure, you will lead the technology backbone that powers learning across 9,000+ schools and over 1,00,000 devices. You will oversee all hardware operations, ensuring high availability, low TCO, and seamless user experiences. This is a strategic leadership role where you will define and scale IT infrastructure for internal teams and school deployments, while evaluating and adopting next-gen technologies that shape the future of learning.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR


Experience


● 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and hardware operations, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing distributed teams and multi-vendor ecosystems.

● Proven success in managing large-scale hardware deployments and operations Technical & Operational Mastery

● Demonstrated expertise in establishing and managing enterprise-wide IT infrastructure, including end-user devices (computers and mobile devices), servers, and network systems

● Deep understanding of Android-based hardware, smart TVs, and interactive panels deployed at scale in field environments such as schools or distributed branches. ● Proven experience managing large-scale device fleets (10,000+ units) with field deployment challenges—network variability, offline access, and long-term maintenance.

● Familiarity with LAN/WAN architecture, internal server infrastructure (on-prem or hybrid),

● Experience working with hardware OEMs, IT service partners, and managing full lifecycle procurement with a focus on cost optimization (TCO).

● Ability to evaluate and adopt new hardware innovations with a deeper understanding of various hardware specifications

● Solid understanding of IT security, OS patching, and update management across internal networks and internal servers


Leadership & Execution


● Led cross-functional teams including IT engineers, regional support staff, warehouse ops, and vendor partners.

● Skilled in managing external vendors and cultivating strong, collaborative partnerships to ensure service excellence and alignment with organizational goals

● Experience in building, documenting, and governing scalable IT processes—including onboarding, issue resolution workflows, SLA management, and compliance protocols.

● Strategic thinker with strong execution bias—able to define infra SLAs, rollout plans, and manage risk in large deployments.

● Serve as a strategic partner and foundational leader within the organization, delivering timely and effective support to business stakeholders and field leadership.


Bonus

● Experience building IT systems in education

● Exposure to rural deployment models or tech operations in low-bandwidth regions.

● Familiarity with integrating IT workflows with logistics or warehouse management systems.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


● Drive Infra Strategy: Build and execute a future-ready hardware strategy across schools, internal teams, and warehouse systems.

● Lead Scale Deployments: Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of 1L+ Android tablets, TVs, and panels—from procurement and MDM configuration to maintenance and replacement cycles.

● Vendor Management: Evaluate, onboard, and manage hardware OEMs, warehouse vendors, and last-mile deployment partners.

● Tech Innovation & Evaluation: Pilot and assess new classroom technologies - teaching devices smart boards, offline-first learning kits—and recommend adoption based on learning outcomes and TCO.

● Internal IT Oversight: Ensure seamless internal IT operations—device provisioning, WiFi and VPNs, secure access management, and productivity tooling across offices.

● Team Leadership: Build and mentor IT support teams, regional hardware leads, and warehouse operations—ensuring rapid issue resolution and strong service orientation.

● Infrastructure Monitoring: Establish proactive health check systems (MDM dashboards, real-time alerts, tracking) to maintain uptime and reduce incidents.
