Responsibilities
- User research & discovery: Plan and run interviews, task analysis, surveys; synthesize insights into personas, and opportunity maps.
- Information architecture: Define navigation, taxonomy, and content hierarchy; design flows for key journeys and edge cases.
- Interaction design: Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes (low→high fidelity); specify component behaviors and micro-interactions.
- Visual & motion design: Establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, iconography, motion principles; ensure consistency and craft.
- Design systems: Build and maintain reusable components, tokens, and patterns; partner with engineering for implementation parity.
- Accessibility: Design and review for WCAG compliance (contrast, focus, semantics, ARIA), keyboard/voice support, captions/alt text.
- Usability testing: Plan and run tests, A/Bs, heuristic reviews; translate findings into iterations.
- Content design: Write and structure UI copy, error messages, empty states, and onboarding.
- Dev collaboration: Provide specs, states, and assets; participate in sprint ceremonies, QA design.
- AI experience strategy: Identify where AI adds value (assist, automate, augment); prioritize use cases and define the “role” of the AI.
Measures of Success (OKRs)
- Task success rate: % of attempts that meet acceptance criteria (if no change requests come from PM team)
- State coverage: % of shipped flows with full specs.
- Error & recovery: rate of UX-preventable errors;
- Accessibility compliance: WCAG issues per release;
- Design→dev parity: % components/states implemented to spec; escaped UX bugs post-release.
- State coverage: % of key flows documented across ideal/empty/loading/error/permission states.
- Experiment velocity: A/Bs or usability studies run per quarter
About You
- 3–6+ years designing end-to-end web product experiences with shipped work.
- Strong interaction + visual craft: flows, wireframes, prototypes, component specs, accessibility (WCAG 2.2).
- User research hands-on: plan/run interviews and usability tests; turn findings into decisions.
- Design systems: contribute components/tokens, work with engineers to achieve parity in code.
- Content design basics: clear microcopy, states, error messages, and empty/loading patterns.
- Collaboration: agile rituals, developer handoff, QA of UX details; excellent written/spoken communication.
- Tools: Figma (auto-layout, variants), FigJam/Miro, prototyping (Figma prototypes), Jira.
- AI UX literacy: knows when to assist/automate/augment; can design for ambiguity, partial confidence, and recovery.
- Great presentation skills and comfortable justification for the design decisions you made
- Leading simultaneous projects with fast turnarounds.
- Familiarity and comfort in working with engineers - willingness to learn the technical constraints of implementing certain design principles.
