Job Description: Technical Head – Surveillance Systems

Position Overview

The Technical Head will lead the complete technical lifecycle of surveillance projects, including system design, planning, execution, integration, and optimization. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in CCTV, NVR/server infrastructure, networking, and large-scale surveillance architecture. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, ensure high-quality project delivery, and provide strong leadership to engineering and project teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & System Design

  • Lead end-to-end technical design, planning, and execution of CCTV and NVR/server-based surveillance projects.
  • Develop surveillance system architecture and technical strategies for large-scale deployments.
  • Design and validate IP camera layouts, network architecture, storage solutions, and command-centre setups.
  • Approve and validate Bills of Materials (BOM), technical drawings, and design documentation.
  • Oversee RMA processes and coordinate with OEMs for replacements and technical escalations.

Project Execution & Team Management

  • Supervise engineers, site technicians, and technical managers to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure proper implementation of structured cabling, NVR/server configuration, network setup, and system integration.
  • Monitor progress of ongoing projects and provide technical guidance, escalation support, and performance reviews.

Technology & Integration

  • Evaluate and select hardware/software solutions including VMS, analytics, storage servers, network devices, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Manage integration of CCTV systems with IT networks, access control, monitoring systems, and third-party platforms.
  • Ensure system reliability, redundancy, failover mechanisms, and cybersecurity compliance across all sites.

Advanced Troubleshooting & Optimization

  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
  • Conduct performance optimization of surveillance systems, command centres, and backend infrastructure.
  • Implement technical best practices to enhance stability, scalability, and future-readiness.

Client, Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and auditors for design approvals, technical presentations, and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for technical discussions, product evaluations, and solution enhancements.
  • Represent the technical division in high-level meetings, audits, and project review forums.

Training & Capability Development

  • Lead internal training sessions for engineers, project teams, and operations staff.
  • Conduct technology evaluations, PoCs, and continuous skill-development initiatives.
  • Establish and update SOPs, design guidelines, and technical standards for the organization.

Budgeting & Technical Governance

  • Monitor and control technical budgets, ensuring cost-effective designs and resource utilization.
  • Review technical risks, quality parameters, and compliance requirements for all projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in surveillance technologies and project delivery frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in CCTV, NVR/server-based surveillance system design and implementation.
  • Strong expertise in system design, including camera coverage planning, storage/bandwidth calculation, and redundancy models.
  • In-depth knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, Layer 2/3 switching, PoE, VPNs, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies: RAID, NAS, SAN, and server virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Experience working with major CCTV brands such as CP Plus, Tyco, or equivalent enterprise-grade systems.
  • Familiarity with VMS platforms, video analytics, command center design, and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multi-site deployments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or IT.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
