Role Synopsis
This role covers suppliers primarily based in India but may involve some travel to Middle East and South East Asia. The primary objective to drive supplier improvement reducing Non-conformances/Concessions and improving on-time delivery, coupled with leading internal improvements that make Proserv a ‘better customer’ generating shared cost savings and efficiencies.
Responsibilities

- Assess new suppliers to ensure they meet Proserv’s quality standards.
- Maintain supplier quality risk and opportunity records.
- Develop and manage supplier quality initiatives, including vendor expectations and inspection standards, to ensure materials meet specifications.
- Analyse supplier quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to implement and monitor corrective action plans.
- Facilitate root cause analysis until suppliers can perform independently.
- Train suppliers in effective RCA to prevent recurring issues.
- Conduct on-site supplier audits to verify corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define quality documentation requirements.
- Support supplier development in quality controls, assurance, and cost reduction strategies (e.g., FMEA, DFM, Value Engineering).
- Lead investigations into negative trends in supplier quality and delivery.
- Monitor and reduce supplier concessions in collaboration with engineers.
- Drive supplier improvement initiatives.
- Define process parameters with engineers to ensure supplier process capability.
- Work with project engineers to align supplier products with client specifications and cost-effective solutions.
- Promote continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Poka-Yoke, SPC, PFMEA, Lean).
- Develop supplier scorecards measuring performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, ESG, and continuous improvement.
- Support Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers, using scorecards and RCA data to drive performance improvements.

- Maintaining accurate records to support informed decision-making.
- Driving effective corrective and preventive actions with suppliers to resolve root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Building supplier capability in quality control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers to align supplier processes, documentation, and products with project and client requirements.
- Monitoring, reporting, and improving supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, safety, and ESG through scorecards and reviews.
Qualifications, Experience And Competency
Education
- Degree preferred; HNC, City & Guilds Licentiateship, BTEC Higher Professional Diploma, NVQ level 4 or equivalent qualification in Engineering or similar technical discipline is essential
- Lead Auditor qualified
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Assurance, or Development within Automotive, Aerospace, or Energy sectors.
- Internal and external audit assessment experience.
- Demonstrated application of ISO standards: ISO9001, TS16949, ISO45001, ISO14001.
- Experience in interpreting engineering drawings in a production or quality assurance context.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes including fabrication, CNC machining, and coating techniques.
- Report writing experience.
- Ability to present data effectively.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and analytical problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Negotiation skills with suppliers and timely follow-up.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse and dynamic environments.
- Strong planning and prioritisation capabilities.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in low-volume, engineer-to-order (bespoke) environments.
- Understanding of Health and Safety practices and legislative requirements.
- Experience dealing directly with customers and suppliers.
- Exposure to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Delivery of internal or supplier training in Root Cause Analysis.
- Electrical/Electronic product production systems.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Key Competency Requirements
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings to quality processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, with emphasis on fabrication.
- Application of lean manufacturing principles to improve supplier quality.
- Use of measurement techniques and metrology in inspection.
- Proficiency in inspection methods and use of general inspection equipment.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of quality issues.
- Capability to implement effective preventative and corrective actions.
