Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our team and manage the day-to-day operations of our Basque Bakery in the vibrant Koramangala neighborhood of Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-quality food, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in retail or food service management.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • ​Operations and Sales Management
  • ​Oversee all daily bakery operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service from opening to closing.
  • ​Drive sales and profitability through effective merchandising, customer service, and local marketing initiatives.
  • ​Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
  • ​Ensure the presentation of all products, displays, and the overall store environment meets the high standards of the Basque Bakery brand.
  • ​Handle cash management, daily reconciliation, and financial reporting accurately.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • ​Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of bakers, counter staff, and support personnel.
  • ​Create and manage weekly staff schedules efficiently to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback and coaching to all team members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.

Customer Experience:

  • ​Ensure all customers receive exceptional and welcoming service, fostering a loyal customer base.
  • ​Proactively resolve customer complaints and issues with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Gather customer feedback to identify areas for improvement in products and service.

Compliance and Quality Control:

  • ​Strictly enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with FSSAI regulations and internal policies.
  • ​Maintain the highest quality standards for all baked goods, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and presentation.
  • ​Manage store maintenance and ensure all equipment is in good working order.

Required Qualifications:

  • ​Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of management experience in a high-volume retail, cafe, or food service environment, preferably in a bakery or patisserie.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Skills

:
  • ​Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • ​Excellent communication (English and local language knowledge is a plus) and interpersonal skills.
  • ​Proficiency in POS systems, inventory software, and basic computer applications (MS Office/Google Workspace).
  • ​Proven financial acumen and experience with budgeting, P&L, and cost control.
  • ​A deep passion for food, baking, and customer service.
  • ​Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the business.
