Job Description – Sr. Purchase Executive- MRO - Industrial Automation Solution

Position Title: Senior Purchase Executive

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Location: [Specify – e.g., Gurugram / Pune / Bangalore]

Reporting To: Purchase Head / Supply Chain Manager

Role Overview:

The Senior Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and

procuring materials, equipment, and services required for MRO / Industrial Automation

operations. The role includes vendor development, cost optimization, timely

procurement, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations to support business

requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Sourcing (40%)

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers for MRO/Industrial

Automation products.

Float inquiries, compare quotations, and finalize purchase orders as per company

policies.

Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery timelines with vendors.

Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality.

2. Vendor & Supplier Management (20%)

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term partnerships.

Evaluate vendor performance based on delivery, quality, and service.

Explore alternate suppliers to mitigate risks and ensure supply continuity.

3. Inventory & Material Planning (15%)

Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to plan material requirements.

Ensure availability of critical items to avoid delays in delivery to customers.

Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely re-orders.

4. Order Execution & Documentation (15%)

Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier details.

Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

5. Reporting & Coordination (10%)

Provide regular reports on procurement status, savings achieved, and vendor

performance.

Work closely with finance for payment follow-ups and reconciliations.

Support management in audits and budget planning.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and compliance.

Good understanding of MRO / Industrial Automation products and market.

Proficiency in MS Office, ERP/CRM systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Engineering / Business (MBA or PG in Supply Chain

preferred).

4–7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in MRO / Industrial Automation /

Engineering industry.

Experience in vendor development and strategic sourcing is highly desirable.

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

Cost savings achieved through negotiations.

On-time procurement & delivery adherence.

Vendor performance score.

Inventory availability & stock-out minimization.

Accuracy and compliance of purchase documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
