Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development

    : Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic/global suppliers for battery components, raw materials (Lithium Ion Cells, Busbars, Plastics, Sheet Metals, Casting, Machining), Semiconductors, PCBs, and Connectors. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors.
  • Negotiation & Cost Management

    : Lead commercial negotiations for contracts, pricing, and lead times to ensure the best value. Conduct cost analysis, breakdown studies, and benchmarking to drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering activities
  • Operational Excellence

    : Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, including Request for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), logistics, customs documentation (e.g., HSN classification, BOE filing), and vendor payments. Oversee inventory planning and demand forecasting for prototype, pilot, and mass-production stages.
  • Quality & Compliance

    : Ensure all procured materials and suppliers comply with relevant industry standards and government regulations, such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, RoHS, REACH, BIS, AIS-038, and AIS-156. Conduct supplier audits and quality checks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    : Work closely with engineering, R&D, design, quality assurance, and production teams to align sourcing with technical requirements and production schedules. Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering changes.
  • Risk Management

    : Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and geopolitical instabilities, including developing dual-sourcing plans for critical components. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement roles, preferably within the automotive or battery manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in supplier management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools with ERP/Inventory Management Systems.
  • Strong understanding of incoterms, freight forwarding, and international logistics.


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices is a plus.
  • Prior experience managing China-to-India supply chains.
