Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist (US Employees)

Techtinium is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist with a strong background in designing, managing, and optimizing compensation and benefits programs for employees based out of the US. You will be responsible for developing and administering compensation structures, incentive programs, and benefits plans, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Key duties include maintaining employee records, responding to employee inquiries, ensuring compliance with US federal and state labor laws, preparing reports, and performing payroll reconciliations. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll and benefits software and regulations are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate salaries, process payments, and manage deductions for employees.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and correct calculation and payment of all federal, state, and local payroll-related taxes.
• Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, such as health insurance and 401(k) retirement plans, including enrollment, deduction processing, and claims handling.
• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous payroll and benefits records, ensuring data accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
• Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding their pay, deductions, benefits, and related queries.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with complex and changing U.S. laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits, which can vary significantly by state.
• Reporting: Generate various reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits data to aid in organizational decision-making.
• Auditing & Reconciliation: Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Human Resources and finance departments to ensure seamless operations and effective implementation of policies.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in processing payroll and benefits for US based employees
• Crucial for maintaining accurate records and performing complex calculations.
• A strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations. 
• Experience with payroll and HR software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees, HR, and vendors. 
• Analytical Skills: Ability to perform calculations, analyze financial data, and resolve discrepancies. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of Laws: Solid understanding of payroll and benefits laws and regulations
• Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive employee information discreetly
• Able to occasionally attend evening meetings to communicate more effectively with US based employees

While not required, preference will be given to candidates with broader Human Resource Management experience
