Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished Sales & Business Development Leader with a proven track record in Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) EPC projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in business development, EPC mandates, and large-scale project sales, along with strong client engagement and negotiation skills. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, building long-term customer relationships, and strengthening the company’s leadership position in the renewable energy sector.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Solar & BESS EPC segments.
  • Generate a strong pipeline of projects by targeting utility-scale, industrial, and commercial clients.
  • Build strategic partnerships with developers, IPPs, corporates, and government bodies.
  • Drive acquisition of EPC mandates through consultative sales and solution-based selling.


Sales Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Define and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Expand market presence in existing and new geographies.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to capture emerging opportunities.


Key Account Management & Client Relationship

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Deliver customized EPC solutions aligned with client needs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and client retention.


Tendering, Proposals & EPC Solutions

  • Lead tender preparation, proposal submission, and bid strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project teams to prepare winning EPC offers.
  • Present and negotiate EPC contracts ensuring profitability and risk mitigation.


Contracting & Revenue Realization

  • Drive commercial negotiations with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure closure of contracts in line with company’s financial objectives.
  • Oversee invoicing, collections, and dispute resolution for timely revenue realization.


Brand Development & Industry Engagement

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Enhance company visibility and brand positioning in the Solar & BESS EPC sector.
  • Promote the company’s technical and commercial capabilities to prospective clients.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Proven track record in Sales, Business Development, and EPC mandates in Solar & BESS projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale, C&I solar, hybrid, and storage projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently handle large-scale project sales from lead to closure.
  • Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of contracts, PPA structures, and EPC business models.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and CXO-level engagement skills.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Energy/Power) is preferred; MBA or PG in Business Management is an advantage.
  • 10–15 years of proven experience in Sales & Business Development, with at least 7+ years in Solar and BESS EPC projects.
  • Experience in handling utility-scale projects, large corporate clients, and government/IPP tenders.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, winning EPC mandates, and closing high-value contracts.
