Walk -IN- interview Senior Engineer- HVAC design

Job Description

Role & responsibilities Design HVAC systems for BESS systems, including load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and layout planning. Develop fire protection systems, including fire detection and suppression, specifically designed to address the hazards associated with battery energy storage systems. Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP ). Perform detailed thermal and ventilation analyses to ensure optimal operating conditions for battery storage systems. Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses to develop effective fire protection strategies. Evaluate and select appropriate materials, equipment, and technologies for HVAC and fire protection systems. Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE). Keep up-to-date with advancements in HVAC and fire protection technologies and integrate best practices into designs. Prepare and review documentation to support regulatory approvals and certifications. Work closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure integrated and cohesive system designs. Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise on HVAC and fire protection matters. Conduct design reviews and inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Provide technical support and guidance during the commissioning and startup phases of projects. Perform post-installation evaluations to ensure system performance meets design intent and operational requirements. Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5 to 7 years of experience in HVAC and fire protection design engineering.
