Description
Roles & Responsibilities Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, suppliers and customers to review design inputs, schedule planning, progress reporting and technical query resolution. Preparation of design documents such as SLDs for electrical networks and switchgear components, Bill of Materials, Functional Design Specifications, sizing calculations, GA drawings, cable schedules, earthing drawings. Perform comprehensive testing of Power Conversion System (PCS), Solar inverters units to ensure reliable and efficient operation within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Conduct integration testing with BESS components to ensure smooth interaction between the PCS, Battery Management System (BMS), and Energy Management System (EMS). Develop and execute test plans and procedures for PCS functionality, performance, and safety. Ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards such as UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEC and other relevant industry standards. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proper & seamless integration of PCS with BMS (Battery Management System), EMS (Energy Management System), and SCADA. Validate communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN, Ethernet) between system components. Monitor and analyses PCS data to identify and resolve operational anomalies. Assist in commissioning support and on-site troubleshooting as needed. Maintain test documentation, including test reports, logs, and system configurations. Knowledge of standards such as NFPA 70, IEC 60364, UL 9540, IEC 62933 Preferred Candidate Profile Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 4+ years of experience in Electrical Power Systems Design in Renewables (Solar, Wind, Hydro, BESS) Power Generation or related industries. Strong foundation in power electronics, AC/DC systems, and three-phase power distribution. Expertise in PCS/Inverter operations, control strategies, and integration within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Understanding of electrical SLD/GAD, Power flow diagrams, Proficient in testing Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN, Ethernet & SCADA systems for communication and data exchange. Familiarity with the selection of electrical components and interfaces, including batteries, inverters, transformers, Cabling system and low voltage switchgear, ensuring compliance with IEC, NEC, and IEEE design standards.
