HR best practices suitable for a multi-country business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

- Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower needs and ensure

timely hiring.

- Oversee onboarding and induction programs for new hires to ensure smooth

integration.

2. HR Operations & Administration

- Manage employee records, contracts, and documentation in line with company and

country-specific regulations.

- Ensure timely processing of payroll inputs, attendance, and leave management in

coordination with finance.

- Administer employee benefits and handle insurance and statutory compliance as per

local laws.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

- Act as a point of contact for HR-related issues for African staff; provide guidance and

support to employees and managers.

- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in line with

company policies.

- Drive engagement initiatives to strengthen company culture and retention across

African operations.

4. Performance Management

- Support the implementation of performance review systems and KPIs.

- Assist line managers in conducting appraisals, providing feedback, and implementing

performance improvement plans (PIPs).

5. HR Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure compliance with local labour laws in African countries of operation (e.g.,

Nigeria Labour Act, Zambia Employment Code, etc.).

- Maintain HR metrics and generate reports on headcount, attrition, and other HR KPIs

for management review.

- Support audits, renewals, and statutory filings as required.

6. Strategic HR Support

- Contribute to developing HR policies, procedures, and regional alignment initiatives.

- Work with management to identify training and development needs for the African

workforce.

- Participate in organizational restructuring or expansion projects across new markets.

7. MIS/Reporting

- Prepare & submit the weekly, monthly & annual HR reports.

- Update the hr records on time.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

(Master’s degree preferred).

- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–4 years managing HR

functions in African countries.

- Strong understanding of HR operations, employment laws, and cultural dynamics in

Africa.

- Experience in industries such as oil & gas, energy, logistics, or trading preferred.

- Proficient in MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint and HR software (ERP/HRIS).

- Excellent communication skills (English required; French or local African languages is

an advantage).
