About The Function
The Good and Green team is responsible for designing and driving the Godrej Industries Group’s sustainability and social impact ambition, covering Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The function works closely with leadership across all our Group companies and cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, packaging, HR, investor relations, legal, audit and communications, to create ambitious environmental and social programmes.http://godrejcp.com/good-and-green.aspx
About The Role
As an ESG Specialist, you will lead and support our sustainability and ESG initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ESG frameworks, regulatory requirements, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven reporting. This role will be instrumental in integrating ESG considerations into our business strategy and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- ESG Strategy & Integration:
- Support sustainability team in development and implementation of ESG strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed ESG principles into business operations.
- Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare ESG disclosures and sustainability reports (e.g., BRSR, GRI, SASB, IFRS).
- Stay informed on relevant ESG frameworks and regulatory developments impacting the agri-business sector.
- Support business in timely submissions of ESG specific – Rating disclosure (DJSI, CDP, Ecovadis etc.) & awards applications (CII, FICCI, Bombay Chambers etc.)
- Lead GHG emissions Scope-3 inventory exercise & external assurance of environmental KPIs
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including investors, rating agencies, and NGOs.
- Support ESG-related communication ex. ESG focused investor presentation, website update / restructuring, social media content building etc.
- Data Management & Analysis:
- Analyze, and manage ESG data across business units.
- Track and report performance against sustainability KPIs such as energy use, water consumption, waste generation, and GHG emissions.
- Assist in digitizing sustainability data systems and maintaining dashboards for real-time monitoring.
- Risk Management:
- Identify ESG risks and opportunities across the value chain.
- Support the development & implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Sustainable Supply Chain & Procurement:
- Collaborate with procurement teams to assess supplier ESG performance.
- Promote responsible sourcing and circular economy practices.
Who are we looking for?
Education
: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
Experience
: Minimum 5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability mandatory
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB, TNFD, UNGC, SDGs) & reporting (Ecovadis, DJSI, CDP, SBTi).
- Experience with ESG data platforms and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Certifications:
- GRI Certified Sustainability Professional
- ESG Investing Certificate (CFA Institute)
- ISO 14001 & ISO 26000 knowledge
