We are seeking a highly strategic as well as execution-focused Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform. This pivotal role is responsible for maximizing our investment in SFMC by deeply understanding business needs, identifying opportunities to drive conversions (e.g., sales, service bookings), enhance efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will be a missionary-like advocate for SFMC's value, adept at defining and implementing robust consent strategies and complex business rules, and skilled at leveraging data and AI to continuously optimize our marketing funnel. You will own the SFMC product roadmap, working closely with diverse stakeholders and technical teams to ensure our platform not only meets current operational demands but also drives significant business value and strategic growth across Prospect, Pro, and FCSD CRM strategies
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Vision:
- Define and articulate a compelling vision and strategy for our Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, marketing strategies, and our broader CRM strategy for Prospect, Pro, and FCSD segments.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, and stay abreast of SFMC releases, industry trends, and emerging marketing technologies (including AI capabilities) to identify new opportunities and inform product direction.
- Develop a deep understanding of our target audience, customer segments, and their journey across various touchpoints to inform SFMC feature development, with a focus on driving conversions (Sales, Service Booking).
- Champion and define the consent strategy for customer data within SFMC, ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and aligning with company privacy policies.
- Engage with stakeholders like a missionary, proactively communicating the product vision, staying aligned on value, and absorbing feedback to refine the strategic direction.
- Product Discovery & Roadmap Management:
- Lead product discovery efforts to identify and articulate problems to be solved within the marketing funnel, working closely with marketing teams and other stakeholders.
- Create and own the SFMC product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, strategic alignment, technical feasibility, and user impact.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, IT, and other relevant departments to gather requirements, understand pain points, and define clear use cases for SFMC functionalities.
- Translate high-level business requirements, including complex business rules and logic for segmentation, personalization, and journey orchestration, into detailed functional specifications, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Create compelling business cases for new initiatives, demonstrating potential value and ROI.
- Execution & Delivery:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including SFMC administrators, developers, data engineers, and marketing operations to guide the development, configuration, testing, and deployment of SFMC solutions.
- Work with the engineering team to create epics & user stories and participate actively in elaboration sessions to ensure shared understanding and technical feasibility.
- Oversee the quality and integrity of SFMC implementations through rigorous testing and validation processes, including securing signoffs for user story acceptance criteria and releases.
- Value Realization & Optimization:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for SFMC initiatives, demonstrating tangible business value and ROI, with a clear focus on driving efficiency & process improvement.
- Work with stakeholders and leverage analysis of data to define & drive value, continuously seeking ways to improve performance.
- Benchmarking and driving best practices in marketing automation and SFMC utilization. Explore and champion the integration and leveraging of AI capabilities within SFMC to enhance personalization, automation, and predictive analytics.
- Continuous Improvement & Operations (BAU):
- Manage ongoing Change Requests (CRs) and their prioritization for the SFMC platform.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Data Quality (DQ) rules and mastering rules to ensure data integrity within SFMC.
- Continuously refine and manage the consent strategy & business rules to adapt to evolving regulations and business needs.
- Capacity & Budget Management:
- Assist in capacity planning and budget management for SFMC-related projects and ongoing operations, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve strategic goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on product management & Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
- Deep functional and technical understanding of SFMC modules (e.g., Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, CloudPages, Contact Builder, Audience Builder, Personalization Builder).
- Proven experience in defining product strategy, developing roadmaps, managing product backlogs, and creating business cases.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, customer journey mapping, lead nurturing, and marketing automation principles, with a focus on conversion optimization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and identify efficiency gains.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, including writing epics and user stories.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator and/or Email Specialist Certification.
- Experience with other Salesforce Clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and integrations with SFMC.
- Familiarity with AMPscript, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within the context of SFMC.
- Prior experience in a B2B or B2C marketing role leveraging marketing automation platforms.
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in marketing.
Master's degree or MBA.
