Job Description

Position: Plant Manager

Experience Required: 10+ years in Plant Operations / Manufacturing (preferably in Biofuels / Renewable Energy / Chemical / Process Industry)

*Role Summary: *

The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the biofuels manufacturing plant, ensuring production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The role requires strong leadership, process knowledge, and expertise in running large-scale industrial operations.

*Key Responsibilities: *

*Operations & Production*

Plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day plant operations to achieve production targets.

Ensure optimum utilization of resources (manpower, machinery, and materials).

Monitor production KPIs (output, efficiency, downtime, wastage) and take corrective actions.

Coordinate with sales and supply chain teams to meet customer requirements.

*Quality & Compliance*

Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Implement safety protocols, environment, and sustainability measures in line with government guidelines.

Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance with statutory norms.

*Maintenance & Efficiency*

Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance of plant equipment.

Minimize downtime and reduce operational costs by improving efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and process automation initiatives.

*Team Management & Leadership*

Lead, train, and motivate plant staff and workers for optimal performance.

Develop a strong team culture focused on safety, productivity, and accountability.

Evaluate workforce performance and implement skill development programs.

*Strategic & Administrative*

Work closely with management on production planning, budgeting, and cost control.

Maintain strong coordination with procurement, logistics, and R&D teams.

Prepare and present operational reports, MIS, and performance reviews to senior management.

*Key Skills & Competencies: *

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in biofuels/chemical/energy sector.

Proven experience in plant management, safety systems, and production planning.

Strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis management abilities.

Knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office, and reporting tools.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

*Qualifications: *

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Production preferred).

MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Operations/Industrial Management (preferred).

Minimum 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing/plant operations, with at least 5 years in this role.
