Plant 4 India is a one-year Fellowship in Rural Development, Land Restoration, and Environmental Education. It aims to support rural communities in India in restoring their environment, building climate resilience, and creating long-term food security. Responsibilities The Fellowship will begin with a training at Sadhana Forest, Tamil Nadu campus. After this orientation, you will facilitate hands-on training on appropriate water conservation and tree-planting techniques for local people in the rural area assigned to you. You will gain significant knowledge and experience in: Water conservation – design and implementation Reforestation Biodiversity and ecosystem regeneration Long-term rural development Children’s environmental education Sustainable living (renewable energy, composting, etc.) Adapting to different cultural contexts Leadership Effective and compassionate communication Time management Qualifications No prior experience in the fields of environment or ecology is required. Location The fellowship orientation will start at Sadhana Forest in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. Upon completion of this stage, you will be assigned to one of the Plant 4 India centers in rural India. Your accommodation in these areas will be on sustainable campuses. In-Fellowship Support When posted in rural India, a monthly stipend will be provided to cover for expenses.
