Plant Manager

As a Plant 4 India Fellow in Rural Development, Land Restoration, and Environmental Education, your role involves supporting rural communities in India to restore their environment, build climate resilience, and create long-term food security. You will begin the Fellowship with training at Sadhana Forest in Tamil Nadu, followed by facilitating hands-on training on water conservation and tree-planting techniques for local communities in your assigned rural area. Key Responsibilities: - Facilitate hands-on training on water conservation and tree-planting techniques - Gain knowledge and experience in water conservation design and implementation, reforestation, biodiversity and ecosystem regeneration, long-term rural development, children's environmental education, sustainable living practices, adapting to different cultural contexts, leadership, effective communication, and time management Qualifications: - No prior experience in environment or ecology fields required In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications, the fellowship offers in-fellowship support which includes a monthly stipend to cover expenses while posted in rural India and mentor support. The fellowship orientation starts at Sadhana Forest in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, and upon completion, you will be assigned to one of the Plant 4 India centers in rural India.
