Job Description

Job Purpose The Head of PPIC is responsible for end-to-end production planning, material planning, and inventory control to ensure timely availability of finished goods while maintaining optimal inventory levels and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role ensures smooth coordination between production, procurement, QA, QC, warehousing, and sales/marketing. Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts and customer commitments • Optimize production schedules to maximize capacity utilization and minimize

changeover losses

• Monitor production progress and proactively address delays or bottlenecks Inventory & Material Management • Ensure availability of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables as per

production plans

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages, excess stock, or expiries • Control inventory aging, slow-moving, and obsolete materials Demand Planning & Coordination • Coordinate with Sales & Marketing for demand forecasts and order prioritization • Align production plans with business objectives and regulatory constraints • Manage order execution for domestic and export markets Cross-Functional Coordination • Work closely with Procurement for timely material sourcing • Coordinate with QA/QC to align production plans with batch release timelines • Collaborate with Warehouse & Logistics for dispatch planning Compliance & Documentation • Ensure PPIC activities comply with GMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements • Maintain accurate planning records, BOMs, MRP data, and production reports • Support regulatory inspections and audits (WHO, USFDA, EU, etc.) Systems & Process Improvement • Lead MRP/ERP systems for planning and inventory control • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead time, waste, and costs • Develop SOPs and KPIs for PPIC performance

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the PPIC team • Set targets, review performance, and ensure skill development • Build a strong planning culture focused on reliability and accountability

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• On-time production & order fulfillment • Inventory turnover & stock accuracy • Reduction in stock-outs and expiries • Capacity utilization • Adherence to production plans Qualifications & Experience • Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.E / MBA (Operations or Supply Chain preferred) • Experience: 10 years in PPIC within pharmaceutical manufacturing • Proven experience handling regulated markets Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of pharma manufacturing processes & GMP • Expertise in production planning, MRP, and inventory control • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Leadership and cross-functional communication abilities • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel Preferred Experience • Exposure to multi-dosage facilities (Tablets, Capsules, Injectables, etc.) • Experience in export-oriented pharma companies • Audit handling experience
