Job Summary:


The Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the planning functions across the organization to ensure efficient production, inventory control, resource allocation, and on-time delivery of products or project milestones. The role involves strategic forecasting, capacity planning, and developing systems to support operational efficiency and business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic planning processes and systems to optimize operations and resource utilization.
  • Lead the demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management functions.
  • Create and manage master production schedules and project timelines to meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, sales, and logistics teams to align planning with business goals.
  • Monitor progress against plans, identify risks and bottlenecks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of planners, providing coaching, support, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of plans, forecasts, and planning assumptions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum [5-8] years of experience in planning, scheduling, or operations management, with at least [2-3] years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of planning tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), and data analysis software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
