For more details, please visit https://www.freecharge.in or download the Freecharge app. Job Title: Manager/Senior Manager – Payroll Operations / Individual Contributor – Payroll Management Location: Gurugram Department: Human Resources Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to lead and manage end-to-end payroll operations for the organization. This is an individual contributor role that requires deep expertise in payroll processing, financial reporting, audit compliance, and vendor management . The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements, along with the ability to collaborate across functions and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll execution. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management: Independently manage the complete end-to-end payroll cycle , including salary processing, variable components, incentives, and final settlements. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll disbursement, adhering to company policies and statutory requirements. Maintain all payroll records, reports, and documentation with high accuracy and confidentiality. Statutory Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws and statutory obligations (e.g., PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, TDS). Handle tax computations, exemptions, deductions, and timely submission of statutory returns and challans. Stay updated with changes in compliance requirements and implement necessary changes in payroll processes. Financial Reporting & Audit Management: Prepare and validate payroll-related financial reports for Finance and HR leadership. Lead internal and external payroll audits , ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and audit readiness. Drive periodic reconciliations and reporting to ensure payroll integrity and compliance. Vendor & System Management: Coordinate with external payroll vendors to manage processing, compliance, and query resolution. Monitor vendor SLAs, raise issues as needed, and ensure seamless integration with internal systems. Support system enhancements and upgrades related to payroll tools and platforms. Employee Support & Query Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee queries. Resolve discrepancies and provide clarity on compensation, tax deductions, and statutory matters. Skills and Qualifications: 10+ years of hands-on experience in managing end-to-end payroll operations in a mid-to-large organization. In-depth knowledge of Indian payroll laws, statutory compliance , and taxation . Strong expertise in financial reporting, payroll audits , and reconciliation processes. Proven experience in managing and collaborating with payroll vendors . Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and payroll software (e.g., SAP, ADP, Oracle, etc.). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. High attention to detail, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and data accuracy. Show more Show less
