Job Summary
As a key member of the M365 Admin and Engineering team, the Microsoft 365 Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, and enhancement of Microsoft 365 services, with an emphasis on SharePoint and MS Teams. This role focuses on the migration and integration of data and applications within M365, troubleshooting a variety of services, and maintaining up-to-date expertise on evolving M365 platforms. The ideal candidate has modest to moderate experience, is assertive, curious, creative in problem-solving, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. This role is a member of the Operations team, who reports to the Manager of Infrastructure and Operations – India.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support SharePoint Online environments, including data migration, monitoring utilization, and enhancing the user experience.
- Lead or assist with migrating data and content to SharePoint Online, ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
- Integrate applications with Microsoft 365 services, especially MS Teams, and participate in configuring app and principal registrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier I and II issues across M365 services, including Teams Voice, MS Teams, SharePoint, Fabric, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Automate administrative tasks and workflows using PowerShell and Power Platform tools.
- Stay current on new features and functionality within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem; proactively learn and share updates with the team.
- Monitor, support, and upgrade third-party services and integrations within the M365 platform.
- Create, maintain, and enhance self-service resources and knowledge bases for both team and end-user consumption.
- Manage and address user support tickets efficiently, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Perform configuration and maintenance of sites and site collections across development, test, and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in a flexible work schedule as needed to support onshore and offshore collaboration.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Hands-on experience in administering SharePoint Online, including site configuration, content migration, and user support.
- Experience in integrating and troubleshooting Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, and Microsoft Fabric
- Familiarity with App and Service Principal registration within Microsoft 365.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating administrative tasks and managing Microsoft 365 services.
- Working knowledge of the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) for workflow automation and process optimization.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and curious professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote working environment.
- Experience using IT service management tools such as Freshservice or similar for ticket and incident tracking.
- Troubleshooting knowledge of .NET, PowerShell, HTML, XML, C#, CSS; exposure to JavaScript and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a focus on delivering high-standard results.
