Job Description

We are hiring a Merchandising Manager for a fast-growing socks export company. The ideal candidate will coordinate sales with international buyers, manage costing and product development, handle buyer communication through order closure, and actively source new markets and buyers to drive export growth.


## Key responsibilities

- Coordinate end-to-end sales operations with international buyers from enquiry to delivery.

- Prepare accurate costing, margin analysis, and commercial terms for quotations and order confirmations.

- Lead product development: convert buyer briefs into tech packs, prototypes, and production-ready specifications.

- Maintain proactive, professional buyer communication across email, phone, and video calls; manage sample approvals and pre-production meetings.

- Close orders by negotiating terms, confirming lead times, and managing PO documentation.

- Work closely with production, QC, logistics, and sourcing teams to ensure on-time, quality deliveries.

- Track order progress, resolve production or shipping issues, and provide timely updates to buyers.

- Identify and develop new markets and potential buyers through market research, trade shows, B2B platforms, and networking.

- Build and maintain a buyer pipeline and CRM records; report sales forecasts and order book status.

- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, raw material prices, and advise on pricing and product positioning.


## Required qualifications & skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Textile/Apparel Merchandising, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 4–8 years of merchandising/sourcing experience in knitted socks or related hosiery/apparel exports.

- Strong knowledge of costing methods, FOB/CIF/EXW terms, incoterms, and export documentation.

- Proven experience in product development, creating tech packs, and handling sample approvals.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; confident in direct buyer interactions.

- Good analytical skills and comfort with spreadsheets (pricing models, margin analysis).

- Familiarity with production processes, quality standards, and shipment logistics.

- Proactive, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple orders and priorities.

- Experience using CRM or ERP systems is a plus.

- Willingness to travel for buyer meetings and trade shows as required.
