Role Overview

The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for driving category performance through strategic assortment planning, brand management, and sales optimization. This role requires close collaboration with brands, internal growth teams, and leadership to ensure strong commercial outcomes while maintaining high visual and quality standards.

The role is ideal for candidates with experience across multi-brand platforms, luxury/fashion ecosystems, or D2C marketplaces.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage end-to-end merchandising for assigned categories or brands
  • Develop and execute assortment strategies aligned with platform and brand objectives
  • Drive category-level performance including GMV, sell-through, margins, and inventory health
  • Build and manage strong relationships with partner brands, including negotiations and planning
  • Lead new brand onboarding from a merchandising perspective, including selection and pricing inputs
  • Identify merchandise gaps, trends, and high-demand products to strengthen category depth
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure effective visual merchandising and launches
  • Support seasonal planning, collection drops, and designer launches
  • Track performance metrics and prepare regular insights for leadership
  • Work closely with operations to ensure timely availability and optimal stock levels


Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in merchandising, category management, or buying
  • Experience working with multi-brand platforms, marketplaces, or premium/luxury brands
  • Strong understanding of assortment planning, inventory management, and sell-through optimization
  • Exposure to P&L or category-level financial metrics is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple brands and collections simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and execution ownership


Preferred Background

  • Experience in fashion, jewelry, accessories, or lifestyle categories
  • Exposure to both e-commerce and offline retail environments
  • Understanding of visual merchandising and brand presentation standards
  • From NIFT
