As HR Manager, you will lead all people operations across:
- 120–130 employees
- Tech + AI + Web3 teams
- Esports/Sports operations
- State & school/college expansion teams
- Multi-office setup (Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Dubai)
This is a high-intensity, high-impact role requiring speed, accuracy, empathy, and operational excellence.
Your primary KPI is building a world-class team fast - while maintaining culture, compliance, and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Acquisition & Hiring Execution
(ZELMU must hire 120+ people in 9 months)
- Run end-to-end recruitment for all departments
- Build hiring pipelines for tech, AI, Web3, esports, and ops
- Manage recruitment channels: LinkedIn, Naukri, AngelList, internal referrals
- Conduct initial screening and coordinate interviews
- Create and maintain role scorecards & hiring frameworks
- Onboard 10–15 people/week during peak hiring cycles
- Maintain time-to-hire < 14 days per role
- Build employer branding initiatives
HR Operations & People Systems
- Create HR policies, handbooks, and compliance documents
- Manage attendance, payroll inputs, leaves, contracts
- Maintain ZEID-based internal identity system for staff
- Implement OKR/KPI tracking systems
- Build performance management cycles (monthly/quarterly)
- Set up HRMS tools (Zoho, Keka, Darwinbox)
- Manage employee documentation and audit readiness
Culture, Engagement & Retention
- Build a strong, fast-moving culture aligned with ZELMU’s vision
- Conduct weekly team standups, monthly engagement activities
- Manage grievance redressal and conflict resolution
- Create welfare programs, mental health support, and team events
- Maintain a retention rate of 85–90% in the first year
Training & Development
- Design onboarding training frameworks
- Conduct workshops for managers and new staff
- Create leadership training for state operations teams
- Maintain skill gaps analysis & training metrics
- Develop esports ethics, youth safety, and anti-harassment modules
Policy, Compliance & Governance
- Implement DPDP Act compliance for employee data
- Ensure company-wide adherence to:
- Code of Conduct
- Anti-harassment policy
- Youth safety guidelines
- Anti-discrimination & inclusion policy
- Set up POSH committee
- Manage HR audits & legal compliance documentation
Office Expansion & Administration Coordination
- Work with Admin & CEO Office to support new office setup
- Facilitate role-based seating plan & team structure
- Manage relocations, onboarding logistics, device allocation
- Coordinate between office admin → HR → finance
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must-Haves:
- 6–8 years HR experience
- Scaling experience (2 → 150 employees)
- Strong hiring experience in tech + operations
- Knowledge of HRMS tools (Keka, Zoho, Darwinbox, BambooHR)
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced, high-pressure startup environments
Nice-To-Haves:
- Experience in esports/gaming industry
- Experience in Web3/startups
- Familiarity with DPDP, POSH, labour laws
- Experience managing multi-office teams
