Job Summary: The General Manager – HR will lead and manage the overall human resources function for multiple manufacturing units across Maharashtra and Gujarat. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies in alignment with business goals, ensuring statutory compliance, designing robust HR policies, implementing performance management systems, and driving employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic HR Leadership Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on human capital management. Support organizational development, change management, and talent initiatives. 2. HR Operations & Administration Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, grievance handling, and employee lifecycle management. Implement and monitor HR processes to ensure efficiency and compliance across plants. 3. Statutory Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory requirements, including: Factories Act Shops and Establishments Act Minimum Wages Act PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, and other applicable regulations Liaise with government and labor authorities as needed. 4. Policy Formulation & Implementation Develop and update HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks. Ensure uniform policy implementation across all units. Conduct training and awareness sessions for policy adherence. 5. Performance Management & KPIs Drive implementation of a robust Performance Management System (PMS). Define and track key HR KPIs, including: Attrition Rate Time to Hire Employee Engagement Scores Training Effectiveness Compliance Scorecards Conduct regular performance reviews and support leadership in performance-based decision-making. 6. Talent Management & Development Identify skill gaps and implement training & development initiatives. Lead leadership development and succession planning. Promote a performance-oriented and learning culture. 7. Employee Engagement & Relations Build strong employee relations and ensure a harmonious industrial environment. Lead initiatives for employee welfare, retention, and engagement. Act as the custodian of workplace culture and diversity. 8. Travel & Multi-Location Management Visit manufacturing units across Maharashtra and Gujarat. Ensure consistent HR standards and practices across locations. Support plant HR teams and provide coaching and guidance as needed. 9. Customer Complaints & HR-Related Audits (Textile Industry) Lead HR readiness for customer and third-party audits, including ISO, SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000, and other textile industry-specific social compliance audits. Address customer complaints related to labor practices, code of conduct violations, or HR documentation with structured Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Collaborate with Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Factory Operations teams to align HR practices with buyer requirements, certifications, and global social accountability standards. Qualifications & Skills: MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent from a reputed institute. 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliances. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Willingness to travel extensively across assigned locations.
