We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Hyderabad-based team. Reporting to the Hyderabad Country Manager and the Head of Operations in Europe, this role focuses on the operational excellence of running, maintaining, and improving our Kubernetes-based applications while establishing robust processes around monitoring, updates, and system reliability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing production systems, a strong understanding of DevOps practices, and the ability to mentor and lead junior team members. While expertise in AWS is valued, the focus will be on operational experience and familiarity with multiple cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, Azure, or Oracle.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes environments, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and security.
- Own Cloud & Infrastructure Strategy – Design scalable AWS/Kubernetes architecture, environment topology, DR/HA, backups, and cost-optimized infrastructure aligned with the CTO roadmap.
- Manage Kubernetes & Environment Operations – Handle clusters, networking, namespaces, configuration, secrets, SSL, DNS, and controlled promotion across DEV → PROD.
- Lead CI/CD & Automation Framework – Define standards, branching/tagging strategy, approvals, and manage automated pipelines for build, test, security scans, deployments, and rollbacks.
- Drive Observability & Monitoring – Define metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts, and lead the monitoring strategy including 24×7 observability practices.
- Support 24×7 Issue Handling – Participate during major incidents, provide DevOps support for P1/P2 issues, and help restore services by coordinating with Dev/OPS teams.
- Security & Compliance Enforcement – Implement IAM, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, image hardening, and ensure ISO/DORA audit readiness.
- Incident & Resilience Management – Lead RCA, maintain incident logs, coordinate DR drills, failover tests, and track availability, MTTR, and operational resilience metrics.
- Environment Governance & Configuration Control – Ensure configuration integrity, manage environment drift, access logs, and conduct periodic configuration audits.
- Tooling, Documentation & Knowledge Ownership – Maintain runbooks, pipeline and monitoring documentation, and govern DevOps toolchain lifecycle and integration.
- Cross-team Enablement & Continuous Improvement – Support developers, collaborate with QA/Ops, and drive quarterly improvements in automation, CI/CD speed, reliability, and infra cost-efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in
Cloud and DevOps
, with hands-on operational expertise. - Proficient in managing
Kubernetes applications
, including setting up monitoring, scaling, and updating processes. - Experience in cloud platforms such as
AWS
(preferred), Google Cloud, Azure, or Oracle. - Strong scripting skills in
Python, Shell, or PowerShell
for automation. - Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as
Jenkins, GitLab CI
. - Solid knowledge of
Linux system administration
and basic Windows server management. - Experience in
containerization technologies
such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage
incident resolution
effectively. - Proven ability to
mentor and lead junior engineers
while maintaining a hands-on approach. - Excellent
communication skills in English
(business proficiency). - Great to have: Experience with Azure Cloud and German Language
