Job Description

Position title
DevOps Lead
Description

We are seeking a DevOps Lead to drive infrastructure automation, developer productivity, and security practices across our product ecosystem. This is a mid-to-senior level, hands-on leadership role for someone skilled at balancing infrastructure and automation with developer enablement.

The DevOps Lead will architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments; build and optimize CI/CD pipelines; and embed DevSecOps practices to ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards. This role requires close collaboration with the Engineering Lead, Testing Lead, and Product Manager to ensure speed, stability, and security in every release.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Automation

  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable, secure environments.
  • Manage provisioning, monitoring, and performance optimization of cloud infrastructure (AWS as primary).
  • Implement automated failover, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

Developer Productivity

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
  • Partner with engineers to streamline development workflows and improve build/test/release cycles.
  • Develop internal tooling to support engineering velocity and quality.

DevSecOps & Compliance

  • Integrate security automation into CI/CD workflows, including vulnerability scanning and dependency checks.
  • Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes comply with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and client security requirements.
  • Proactively identify, address, and document risks in infrastructure and deployment.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a small DevOps team of 2–4 engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering Lead and Testing Lead to align infrastructure with product needs.
  • Communicate trade-offs and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar).
  • Proficiency with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of security automation tools (Snyk, Trivy, OWASP ZAP, or equivalents).
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM).
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and incident management skills.
  • Strong mentoring and communication skills.
Evaluation Process
  • Interview Rounds: Technical depth, security and compliance, and leadership interviews.
  • Practical Assignment (Case Study): Design a CI/CD pipeline for a sample microservice application that runs on AWS. The pipeline should:
  • Provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Build and containerize the application.
  • Deploy it to a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Integrate security scanning (static code analysis, vulnerability scanning) and automated testing.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for production stability.
