The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the management, performance, security, and availability of all databases that power Customer Capital’s products, platforms, and Data Warehouse (DWH). This role demands a mix of hands-on technical expertise and strategic oversight, ensuring that mission-critical databases are highly available, optimized, and scalable to support business growth.
The DBA will work closely with development, infrastructure, and data engineering teams to deliver a robust data ecosystem that supports transactional systems, reporting, and analytics across multiple platforms and environments.
1. Database Administration: Oversee installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of relational and NoSQL databases including AWS RDS as well self-managed and hosted database with AWS EC2 (e.g., MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DocumentDB, MongoDB).
2. Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune databases for optimal query performance, indexing strategies, and efficient resource usage.
3. High Availability & DR: Implement and manage replication, clustering, failover, and backup/restore strategies to ensure business continuity.
4. Data Warehouse Management: Support ETL processes, optimize DWH schema design, and ensure fast, reliable access for reporting and analytics.
5. Security & Compliance: Implement database security best practices, user access management, encryption, and auditing in compliance with data protection standards.
6. Capacity Planning: Forecast database growth and proactively plan scaling strategies to meet product and client demands.
7. Monitoring & Incident Response: Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, archival and troubleshooting mechanisms to minimize downtime.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to design efficient database schemas, review queries, and support application releases.
9. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
High Availability: Ensure >99.9% uptime for critical databases supporting client-facing platforms.
Optimized Performance: Deliver low-latency, high-throughput database operations for transactional and analytical workloads.
Scalability: Implement database strategies that support seamless scaling with business and data growth.
Robust Security: Maintain strong database security posture with no significant breaches or data losses.
Operational Efficiency: Reduce manual DBA tasks through automation and monitoring, freeing time for strategic initiatives.
1. Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in relational, NoSQL database technologies and AWS RDS setup, replication, clustering, and performance tuning.
2. Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze performance bottlenecks and design optimized database solutions.
3. Reliability Focused: Commitment to high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
4. Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, data engineers, and product owners.
5. Process Orientation: Disciplined approach to change management, configuration management, and incident response.
6. Adaptability: Quick to adopt emerging database technologies, cloud-native solutions, and data management practices.
1. 8–10 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 2–3 years handling large-scale, high-availability systems in a SaaS/cloud environment.
2. Hands-on expertise with AWS RDS, Self-managed and hosted Database with AWS EC2, and DWH solutions.
3. Strong background in query optimization, indexing, and schema design for both OLTP and OLAP workloads.
4. Experience in ETL processes, data warehousing, and BI/reporting support.
5. Knowledge of database security, compliance, and audit standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001).
6. Relevant certifications (AWS Database Specialty, Microsoft SQL, MongoDB Certified DBA) will be a strong plus.
