Data Governance Analyst at NIQ enhances our Master Data team in Global Finance Operations. As a Data Governance Analyst, you will support to Data Governance Specialist in addressing the gap by establishing dedicated ownership for governance frameworks, data quality monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives and parallelly also support BAU operations maintaining the integrity of master data (customer, vendor, material & finance) within our financial systems. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the organization's financial operations and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Governance and Cleansing: Must have experience in data cleansing and driving CI and governance initiatives for Master Data Management
- Master Data Management: Oversee the maintenance and integrity of master data in financial systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Manage and maintain the master data within the financial systems, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Data Verification and Validation: Conduct thorough reviews and validation of vendor information, including contact details, payment terms, and banking information, to prevent errors and ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations. Perform data analysis and validation to identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies in vendor data
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of master data management practices. Support the creation, modification, and retirement of records in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, accounts payable, and other finance teams to resolve any discrepancies and support seamless financial operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with vendor onboarding and due diligence processes
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations related to vendor management. Prepare and analyze reports on master data metrics for management review. Monitor and analyze master data quality, identifying and resolving data issues and inconsistencies
- Project Participation: Participate in finance projects, including system upgrades and implementations, impacting master data
- Should be well versed with multiple master data domains and support the team as and when required
- Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to master data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in master data management
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing large sets of data
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in data
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
- Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements in data management or financial processes
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software, particularly in modules related to vendor management. Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve business objectives
