Job Family Definition:

Provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers’ businesses. As trusted advisor create and maintain effective customer relationships so as to insure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge. Actively contribute to the company’s solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects. Shape technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers. Accountable for consistent and significant chargeability levels (or expense relief for internal project teams) and for assisting in meeting or exceeding revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Contribute to organization’s profitability by generating and cultivating new business opportunities and by providing technical support for deal proposal development.

Management Level Definition

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
  • Develop detailed HVAC layout drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Perform load calculations using tools such as HAP, Trace 700, or equivalent.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international codes (ASHRAE, ISHRAE).
  • Collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, IBMS, plumbing teams etc to deliver integrated and coordinated designs.
  • Coordinate with HVAC OEMs to incorporate updated product features into system designs.
  • Support business and project delivery teams through all phases: site assessment, solution preparation, cost analysis, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, administration, construction monitoring, As-built preparation etc.
  • Job role requires visit to customer and project location at regular intervals and travel as required
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and conduct site visits as required.
  • Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications for procurement and execution.
  • Stay current with industry standards, sustainability practices, and emerging HVAC technologies.
  • Responds to requests for technical information from internal HPE team and customers.
  • Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies

Education And Experience Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in HVAC design and implementation. Previous data center experience preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, etc.).
  • Experience with BIM processes and tools
  • Preferred location Bangalore/Mumba
  • Uptime ATD Certification preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

  • In-depth technical knowledge of HVAC systems and design standards.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC codes and compliance requirements (ASHRAE, ISHRAE).
  • Expertise in energy modelling and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions that enhance system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with emerging HVAC technologies and sustainability practices.
  • LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable HVAC design.
  • Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a number of technologies.
  • Has demonstrated innovation and communication of new deliverables and offerings.
  • Ability to develop solutions that enhance the availability, performance, maintainability and agility of a particular customer's enterprise.
  • Ability to re-use existing experience to develop new solutions to take to market.
  • Able to communicate with internal and external senior management confidently and demonstrate the professionalism of the job family.
  • Ability to work in a multi- technology environment with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems
  • Be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of market dynamics, an industry area, commercial issues, and technical concerns whilst maintaining depth in core focus area.
