Continuous Improvement - Data Analyst

Business Intelligence & Analytics includes roles that produce business intelligence (BI) insights from statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies that help to identify trends in large data sets, supported by data mining architectures/models/protocols. BI & Analysis techniques are applied across business (e.g. market economics, products, supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, HR, procurement, etc.).
Professional stream includes those who are individual contributors with main emphasis on applying technical/discipline knowledge rather than managing people to achieve results – although coaching/mentoring less experienced staff, informal supervisory responsibilities, or overseeing work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and program are common. Individual work ranges from setting objectives and delivering on own work responsibilities to being a leading expert within a given field and influencing long term tactical decisions of the organization. Progression within this stream reflects increasing depth of professional knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to influence others. A colleague at this level works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area but will need supervision and support on more complex tasks. Knowledge is required for the application of practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes. Solutioning is through a choice between known alternatives, within the area of expertise and the leader will evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the solution. The job requires previous work experience in a related area, or practical knowledge obtained via advanced education. Leaders at this level manage employees day-to-day and set priorities to ensure task completion.

High-Level Position Purpose

Applies knowledge around analytical tools and methodologies to help develop innovative, data-driven solutions that deliver actionable insights to help identify opportunities, drive efficiencies, scalability, and/or an improved customer experience. Also assists with related training and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively analyze business needs and develop data solutions that are high quality, fit-for-purpose, and easy for users to adopt and action
• Receive, review, and triage incoming requests, assess initial value and feasibility, and outline business needs and required tools or resources
• Coordinate resources post-requirements gathering, engaging SMEs and technical stakeholders as needed
• Align requirements with technical feasibility, propose viable processes, and secure sign-off on scope and exclusions
• Identify, explore, and obtain access to required data sources, acting as a bridge between data owners, engineering, and stakeholders
• Build and validate base datasets using tools like Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Python; move validated datasets to production environments and collaborate with engineering for cloud deployments
• Design dashboards and visualizations aligned with business goals, defining KPIs, filters, visuals, and layout for usability
• Develop user-friendly applications, including UI design, validations, calculations, role-based features, and navigation logic
• Set up data repositories and enable access controls for app consumption; perform initial data loads
• Develop automated workflows and scripts for data archiving, refresh, and maintenance
• Design and execute on-demand ad hoc analyses using tools such as Databricks, gathering input from business stakeholders
• Create user training materials, guides, and video tutorials, conduct training sessions and support solution rollouts
• Provide ongoing user support, troubleshooting issues, enabling access, and resolving technical questions
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), gather feedback, and apply refinements
• Document solutions thoroughly to support future enhancements, handovers, and knowledge transfer
• Monitor solutions post-deployment, ensuring proper functioning, dataset refreshes, archiving processes, and timely issue resolution
• Perform basic updates to reports and dashboards for layout or cosmetic changes that don’t alter underlying data models
• Maintain a high level of quality in all deliverables, following defined team standards and operating models
• Raise and address deviations, risks, or resource gaps that might impact project timelines or quality
• Provide regular updates for management and stakeholder reporting, maintaining transparency around scope, timelines, and budgets
• Maintain strong business acumen to ensure solutions align with strategic goals and deliver tangible value
• Leverage internal and external resources and best practices through collaboration and networking

• Provide advice in such areas as data distribution, strategy, data management policies and procedures, data and data base administration, data management tools/software
• Give input to assist in managing the incoming pipeline for both new solution requests and enhancements

Required experience & skills

• At least 2 years relevant work-experience managing data/creating and implementing solutions
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business statistics, computer science, analytics and data science preferred
• Proficient use of Power Platform and Office365
• Experience producing and maintaining solutions within Azure. Knowledge of specific components like Azure Data Lake, Databricks, SendGrid and Pipeline deployment is preferred. At a minimum have a solid level of understanding of Cloud Computing resources that allows to raise proper requests to Engineering role.
• Apply working knowledge of SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis tasks
• Ability and drive to quickly adapt and learn new platforms
• Advanced Excel Skills required. Proficiency in MS Access a plus
• Proven record in establishing relationships and stakeholder networks
