Job Title: Vice President – Planning & Projects (Operations) Department: Operations Reports To: Executive Director – Operations Direct Reports: 8 Industry: EPC / Firefighting & Fire Alarm Systems Role Purpose : (Mission)The Vice President – Planning & Projects is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for planning, project execution, and operations. The role ensures seamless project delivery, operational excellence, cost control, compliance, and achievement of top-line and bottom-line targets across the organization. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategy DeploymentDevelop short-term and long-term business growth strategies. Align operational strategies with organizational vision and mission. Provide strategic inputs to the Business Development team. Monitor and review functional goals periodically. Measurement Strategy alignment, business plan execution, goal monitoring. 2. Operations Budgeting & Financial Control: Prepare and consolidate the overall operations budget. Monitor revenue, billing, and cash flow targets. Build capacity across supply chain (including international sourcing). Ensure alignment of departmental KRAs with corporate objectives. Measurement: Budget vs Actual, Operations Top-line & Bottom-line. 3. Escalation Management Handle escalations related to receivables and project execution. Support resolution of domestic and overseas project issues. Measurement: No bad debts, Project Plan vs Actual. 4. Policies, Process & Compliance: Design and implement policies for project planning, fabrication, site execution, key accounts, and QHSE. Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Measurement: Policy effectiveness, operational performance. 5. Resource Deployment & Execution: Deploy resources efficiently across departments and projects. Approve major estimation and costing deviations. Monitor productivity and resource effectiveness. Measurement: Cost of Operations (Budget vs Actual). 6. Process Improvements : Drive productivity through 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement. Implement cost-reduction and efficiency-enhancement initiatives. Ensure safety and statutory compliance. Measurement: Productivity, cost reduction, lead time, statutory NCs. 7. MIS & Reporting Review operational MIS reports on cost, execution efficiency, planning accuracy, and corrective actions. Present reviews during management meetings. Measurement: Quality of reports and documentation. 8. People Development: Mentor and groom functional heads for leadership roles. Improve team performance, morale, and retention. Measurement: Skill improvement, employee performance, attrition levels. Key Performance AreasOperations Budget vs Actual Cost Control & P&L Audit Scores & Process Improvement Team Productivity & Development Educational & Experience Requirements Education: BE / B.Tech (Any Stream); MBA in Operations preferred Experience: Minimum 12 years in EPC / Firefighting / Fire Alarm Systems At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (GM / AVP level) Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire protection systems and emerging industry trends Language Skills: English, Hindi, and regional language preferred
