Job Summary: The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets and expand market share in India. This senior leadership role will oversee all sales operations, manage a high-performing team, build strategic partnerships, and foster strong customer relationships to position the brand as a market leader in the EV space. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Sales Planning Develop and implement a sales strategy tailored to the Indian EV market, aligned with global objectives. Set and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Identify and focus on key market segments including urban consumers, fleet operators, and government partnerships. 2. Team Leadership and Development Build and lead a high-performing sales team, including regional managers and dealer networks. Recruit, train, and onboard talent aligned with the company’s sales methodology. Foster a performance-oriented culture, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement. 3. Market Expansion and Partnerships Establish and grow relationships with dealerships, distributors, and other key channel partners. Collaborate with government bodies and associations to leverage incentives and EV policy support. Create strategic alliances with fleet operators and infrastructure partners. 4. Customer Relationship Management Build relationships with key B2B and B2C customers, including fleet and corporate buyers. Lead high-level sales negotiations to drive long-term customer loyalty. Collect and act on customer feedback to enhance satisfaction and brand perception. 5. Collaboration with Marketing and Product Teams Work with marketing on localized campaigns and brand awareness. Share customer and market insights with product teams to ensure market fit. Align sales and marketing goals for optimal performance. 6. Market Analysis and Forecasting Track competitor activity, market dynamics, and policy changes. Deliver data-driven forecasts and performance reports to senior leadership. Stay informed on regulatory and infrastructure developments. 7. Operational Excellence Manage sales budgets effectively. Implement scalable and efficient sales processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and global best practices. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred. Experience: 12+ years in automotive sales, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Strong record in the Indian market, preferably in EVs or related segments. Experience leading dispersed sales teams and managing dealer networks. Skills: Inspirational leadership and team development skills. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Strong knowledge of India’s automotive and EV ecosystem. CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce) and data-driven decision-making. Strategic mindset with adaptability in dynamic environments. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively across India and internationally. Fluent in English; Hindi or regional language proficiency is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in electric vehicles or clean energy. Network of relationships across India’s automotive sector and government.
