Job Description

The Senior Vice President – Finance is a key executive leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s financial strategy, governance, and long-term financial health. The SVP Finance partners closely with the executive leadership team to support business growth, profitability, risk management, and compliance while ensuring strong financial controls and stakeholder confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and long-term growth plans
  • Provide strategic insights to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership for decision-making
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes

Financial Management & Control

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures

Business Performance & Analytics

  • Analyze financial performance, KPIs, and profitability across business units
  • Drive cost optimization, margin improvement, and capital efficiency initiatives
  • Support pricing strategies, investment decisions, and ROI analysis

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and corporate governance requirements
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks, investors, and regulatory authorities

Capital & Treasury Management

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, debt, and capital structure
  • Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and funding activities
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and due diligence processes

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor senior finance leaders and teams
  • Build a high-performance finance organization with strong succession planning
  • Foster collaboration across departments to enable business objectives

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments
  • High integrity, governance mindset, and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / CFA / MBA (Finance)
  • 15–20+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles (VP / SVP / CFO-1 level)
  • Experience working with boards, investors, and auditors

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in [industry-specific: advertising, technology, manufacturing, BFSI, etc.]
  • Exposure to M&A, fundraising, IPOs, or PE-backed environments
  • Strong understanding of Indian regulatory and tax frameworks
