We are seeking an accomplished Technical Leader – PHP to join our team and play a key role in driving technical excellence, innovation, and scalability across our projects.

Job Overview

As a Technical Leader – PHP, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and delivering high-performing, scalable, and secure PHP-based applications. You will lead and mentor a team of developers, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, architecture, and performance optimization. This position requires strong expertise in PHP and related technologies, proven experience in system and solution design, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful business solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Technical Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of PHP developers by providing strong technical direction and guidance.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and quality benchmarks.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to improve code quality, maintainability, and team capability.

2. Project Management:

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle—from requirement analysis and design to deployment and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with development teams, designers, and stakeholders to establish clear requirements, scope, and deliverables.
• Effectively manage project timelines, resources, and risks to ensure successful, on-time, and within-budget delivery.

3. Architecture & Development:

• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing PHP-based solutions aligned with business needs.
• Propose and design high-level technical architectures for both large-scale and smaller projects.
• Drive hands-on development and optimization of PHP applications, ensuring efficiency and responsiveness.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance product functionality and user experience.

4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to drive innovation.
• Recommend and implement tools, methodologies, and processes that optimize productivity and code quality.
• Conduct feasibility analysis and research to validate new technologies or features.

5. Collaboration & Communication:

• Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team culture built on trust, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Partner with other technical leaders and departments to ensure alignment of solutions and seamless system integration.
• Create and deliver clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and progress reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Proven track record of leading at least 2 large-scale or enterprise-level web/software development projects to successful completion.
• Hands-on experience in building and managing at least 2 projects from inception to launch, demonstrating ownership across the full development cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in PHP development.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or technical lead role.

Technical Skills:

PHP & Frameworks: Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.

Programming Principles: In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). APIs: Strong understanding of REST API standards and best practices.

System & Database Design: Hands-on experience in system design, database design, and distributed systems/architecture.

Front-End Technologies: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and libraries/frameworks like Vue.js, React, or Angular.

Database Management: Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.

Version Control & CI/CD: Proficient with Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.

Cloud & Containerization: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Soft Skills:

Excellent English communication skills.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management abilities.

Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Knowledge of security best practices and application performance optimization.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.).
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal GitHub portfolio.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

• HR Screening/Telephonic Interview (30 to 45 Minutes)
• Technical & Final Round Interview – 2-3 hours, covering Technical Vision & Strategy, Leadership & People Skills, and Execution & Business Acumen, role information, policies, and package.
