Job Title: Sr.Manager– Solar Cell Manufacturing

Sr.Manager– Solar Cell Manufacturing


Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Line Setup

  • Lead planning and execution of the solar cell manufacturing line setup, including machinery selection, layout finalization, FAT, and installation.
  • Coordinate disassembly from supplier sites, transportation, and reassembly at Junna Solar facility.
  • Analyze layout and capacity needs and finalize equipment combinations (e.g., PECVD, Diffusion, Screen Printing, ALD, Firing, etc.).

2. Machine Operation & Maintenance

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all critical manufacturing equipment.
  • Implement condition-based monitoring, preventive maintenance (CAPA), and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Ensure critical spares management and work toward indigenization to reduce dependency and cost.

3. Production & Process Management

  • Monitor solar cell production across stages (PERC, TOPCon), ensuring adherence to quality, output, safety, and cost parameters.
  • Calibrate and control machinery to meet daily/monthly production targets.
  • Lead production planning, daily shift management, and resource utilization.

4. R&D and Innovation

  • Guide research on cell efficiency improvement, process optimization, and material innovation.
  • Use DoE, FMEA, and PVsyst simulations to validate innovations and design changes.
  • Liaise with design and quality teams to pilot new processes or materials.

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure product compliance with IEC 61215, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Reduce process rejections and field failures through systematic quality improvements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and internal quality reviews.

6. Automation & Data Systems

  • Implement automation, data analytics, MES (e.g., Siemens, Camstar), ERP (SAP, Oracle), and digital dashboards (Power BI, Minitab).
  • Support traceability and real-time production monitoring via integrated systems.

7. Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead cross-functional teams including operators, technicians, process and maintenance engineers.
  • Assign roles, review performance, conduct skill training, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Build a strong culture of continuous improvement and accountability.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Materials Engineering. M.Tech preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years in solar/PV/semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3 years in leadership role handling line setup, production, and engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with PERC/TOPCon process equipment.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation, SPC, lean manufacturing (Kaizen, Kanban, DMAIC).
  • Familiarity with process tools (PECVD, ALD, Diffusion, Screen Printer, etc.).
  • Proficient in MATLAB, Python, PVsyst, Power BI, FMEA, DoE.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent team leadership, cross-departmental coordination, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving approach.


Working Conditions:


  • Office and factory setting; occasional travel; adherence to safety protocols.
