We are building a modern, scalable web platform using a headless CMS architecture powered by Drupal (backend) and Next.js (frontend). The application prioritizes high performance, accessibility, and seamless integration across components. We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to drive quality across the platform through meticulous testing and process excellence.
● Own the QA process for the web platform across frontend (Next.js) and backend (Drupal APIs)
● Develop comprehensive test documentation including detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing
● Execute manual testing for web UI and APIs, logging clear, reproducible issues with detailed steps and environment information
● Perform cross-browser and device compatibility testing to ensure responsiveness, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and consistent user experience
● Validate GraphQL/REST API responses using tools like Postman or Insomnia, including schema validation and error handling
● Test API integrations between Next.js frontend and Drupal backend, verifying data flow and content management workflows
● Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and product owners to understand requirements, user stories, and edge cases
● Participate actively in agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint demos
● Work closely with development teams to reproduce bugs, support debugging efforts, and champion quality-first development practices
● Provide QA input during requirement analysis and design phases to identify potential quality risks early 1
● 5+ years of QA/testing experience in modern web application development environments
● Strong proficiency in testing component-based UIs built with React/Next.js, including state management and component lifecycle testing
● Comprehensive API testing experience with GraphQL and REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and performance validation
● Hands-on expertise with bug tracking tools (Jira, Asana) and test management platforms (Zephyr, TestRail, qTest)
● Deep understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser testing strategies across multiple devices and browsers
● Strong knowledge of accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines) and testing methodologies
● Proficiency in version control using Git, including branching strategies and collaborative workflows
● Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and quality integration in sprint cycles
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating clear bug reports, test documentation, and stakeholder updates
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
● Web security testing knowledge including OWASP vulnerabilities and data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA)
● Test automation experience with modern frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Jest, or React Testing Library
● Drupal ecosystem experience, particularly with headless/decoupled architectures, content modeling, and JSON:API endpoints
● CMS and content management testing experience with workflow validation and publishing processes
● CI/CD pipeline experience with quality gates integration (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
● Performance testing capabilities using Lighthouse, WebPageTest, JMeter, or K6 for load and stress testing
● Digital analytics validation experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or tag management systems (GTM, Adobe Launch)
● Cloud platform familiarity (AWS, Acquia Cloud) and containerization awareness (Docker)
● Application monitoring familiarity with tools like New Relic, DataDog, or Sentry 2 Engagement Model
● Daily stand-ups with the remote team.
● Active involvement in QA planning during sprint cycles.
● Work closely with developers and product team to ensure high-quality release
